God that first movie was awful. I love the rest though, and can't wait for the new one.

I really liked the first two.
I hate how Hollywood is ruining all of my childhood memories with terrible re-makes. I'm sure this won't be any different.

I believe this is the first time a director is making their own reboot. I'm excited! I read this movie is 80% practical effects, and most of the CGI was used to remove safety harness off the stuntmen and stuff like that. I also read George Miller has been stewing on his Mad Max universe for 30 years, and when he went to get this movie made he brought 2 complete scripts ready to film.

First movie was terrible. Second movie was awesome. Third movie was watchable but lame. That being said I'm still a Mad Max fan and am looking forward to seeing it. First round of reviews weren't bad.

from what i heard, its not a reboot, its not a sequal, but it does expand on the same world of Mad Max and takes it even a bit further into the future, like the rest did.
also, its not a new director... George Miller is still the director of all 4. And he said that if this one does well, he's already got the stories written for two more movies.
as for hollywoodism, this one shouldnt be as bad as #3 (Beyond Thunderdome) because that one was PG-13 where this one is 18+
This fourth film comes 30 years after the last one (thunderdome) and 36 years after the original Mad Max. talk about classic!
seeing @ 9 tonight in 3d much excite

I'm incredibly happy to hear that there's been a focus on practical effects.
