View Full Version : OPEN Planar Raid - Monday 11 May - 10am eastern US Time

On Monday, 11 May, Omni will be hosting an open planar raid at 10am US eastern time.

We invite everyone who would like to attend to come along.

The purpose of this raid is to provide an opportunity for those who don't belong to raiding guilds (or guilds who raid little) to experience the content and maybe get some loot.

We'll determine if we're going to Fear or Hate a few minutes before the raid. We'll make that decision based on which is unoccupied and repopped.

If you belong to an experienced raiding guild, you're welcome to come along, too, in support of the raid - but please bring your main and leave most of the loot for those who don't otherwise get to the planes much (if at all).

If we choose to go to Hate, Omni will cover the cost of the port stones.

Requirements:
Your 'toon must be at least L46 with a bubble or so of experience.

Loot distribution:
You may /random on any loot that you can use and is an upgrade for you.
Be mindful of others. If you've won an item already, please don't roll on further items until everyone of your class has won something.

Preparation:
Be at the WC spires at 9:40 or so eastern US time. We will be starting promptly at 10:00am. Providing transportation for latecomers can be difficult, so be prompt.
No special gear is required for this raid.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Hopefully other guilds will be mindful of this and leave the planes up.

Right on Cloki, I'll see if I can attend and do some enchanting.

Fantastic way to get everyone in the community involved.
Thanks for the opportunity!

Timing could be better, but this is one of the first chances like this that I've seen in a long time. Kudos!

Very cool of you all to set this up. I have to work unfortunately but I'm going to pass this along to some folks I know on UK time that may be able to attend.

Be nice to set one of these up for a prime time weekend slot if all other guilds would comply and leave it up.

Holy crap! A open morning raid? That's actually perfect for me because I play at odd hours.

I'll try to be there with my 55 necro. I'll make sure to pick up some E-emeralds in case needed. But I'll warn you that I did very, very little raiding back in the day and I haven't had a chance to raid at all on P99 so I'm basically a newb to raiding.

On the other hand I'm not a total idiot and I can follow basic instructions if you use small words.

This is awesome! I want to thank you for setting up something so inviting to the P99 Community. I will be at work so I won't have a chance to attend and help.

This still brought a smile to my face, good times when people help each other and treat loot as secondary.

I also wanted to second how awesome this is! I can't make this one either due to work but would love to see more open raid opportunities -- Thanks for blazing the trail Omni!!

Don't sweat it if you've not raided much (if at all) before. That's part of the purpose of the thing.

We will try to give clear instructions and there will be a number of people there who can answer specific questions that you may come up with.

So even if you're 100pct new to raiding, don't worry about it. We want you there and it should be a lot of fun for those who are able to show up.

I guested on an Omni raid in sky, they are nice folks. Will try to make this one too if I don't have overbearing RL commitments.

I will try to make this. It is a little early PST, I might be able to work it out though =/.

This is good. I am not really a raid player but I would like to see the planes.

Lotta "thanks Omni" here...

BUT...any number of guilds could have taken out that Maestro after 12 hours - rolled right over the top of the ad hoc raid...but they didn't.

So it's not "thanks Omni" - but thanks to ALL the raiding guilds who were generous enough not to contest that Maestro - but gave people a shot at it who otherwise may never have gotten to see it. It was a neat thing.

His loot was /randomed among the attendees (of the appropriate classes).

We had a lot, A LOT of public raid on the Bristlebane server back in the day. This was definitely in the spirit of the game and good fun. Cheers to Omni leaders for offering their time and expertise, you made the day for many folks.

There were epic drops, BIS items, and lots of fun to go around. I hope everyone had a good time!

True enough, but still, this was a cool idea that took some initiative and organization. I wish I could have made it--I loved pickup raids (in all their sometimes-disastrous glory) way back when. I hope you do this again and I hope to make it next time.

Could make a drinking game out of it. Every time Mindeen dies everyone watching has to take a shot.

Glad to hear it was a success. I would have loved to attend, but alas, I have to work 7am EST - 4pm EST. If I'm avail for the next one, I will try to attend. I'm ALWAYS streaming, and would be a great chance for healers/buffers to watch the action from a warrior POV.

Also big props to the other guilds for leaving Hate up and allowing some people the chance at loots and Maestro! Some people never have been to hate, or don't currently have the ability to raid in their current situations. Seeing more and more Open/PUG raids with the release of Velious should make for fun times on P99 Blue!
