What are some places people know of that are out of the norm?? Im a 56 necro looking to get back into it, but most places are camped... so im really wondering about some off the beaten path places i could possibly go to and make some exp happen??... even if its a afk camp that doesnt drop loot (just exp)... lets here it - thanks for your time folks!!!

Not sure how unorthodox, but howling stones seems like a great necro spot.

Sesserdrix has done some videos on the top if you poke around the tubes.

HS for charming
Permafrost Bear pits for root rotting
Karnors for charming or rotting (depending on camp)
HHK Nobles?? (Can't remember the level but I think it's good mid 50s)

Those are what I can think of at the moment. Good luck!

Howling stones is certainly not original, but its a great spot to level to 60 as a necro and it is rarely so camped that there is not plenty of room to solo.

Skyfire can take you to 60 and is outdoor allowing fear kiting.

Lord camp in guk could take you pretty far and it is prolly the least popular camp in guk.

This seems confusing. HS is the number one solo spot for shamans, enchanters, and necros. If you play at prime and even sometimes non prime time hours even the basic camps are taken. Has isn't what you're looking for.

You can basically solo anywhere in entrance, bottom, north or west wing. That is alot of room.

nobles suck after doing hell level at 54. as a 56 necro the goo steps in CoM are 99% open and you won't die fromt rains when you pull from the invis wall as long as you bring the mobs to the steps. You can DMF off the stairs ontot he middle to FD or gate and never die.

HS basement is probably the best XP at the highest risk. Get ready to bring in a ton of EE's and figure out who is anon/role in zone if there's no one else in there so you can find out if entrance is being camped. Sesserdrix has a video on youtube, and I might still have a twitch demo that I posted on the caster/necro forums around a year ago.

another spot to get rid of the boring solo grind is seafuries late at night whent hey are not as contested.

grouping wise seb is your best bet. YOu need to learn how to use your shadowbond heal, then dispel it from the first slot... you essentially heal 125 a tick forever with costing yourself 125 every 4 ticks. Be iksar and be in a grp with a druid/shaman can make you a very effective healer. I've solo healed VP entrance wyverns once they were slowed with it. Add in an emergency mez for when you need to pop it and allowing your chanter to afk for a couple minutes will make you loved. A lazy necro is terrible, but once you master your grp abilities you become a very productive grp member. Ask anyone that has leveled or grouped with my necro in the past :)

West wing risk vs reward is a million time off balance. Especially at 56. I don't even attempt to do west at 60 on my shaman. I never NEVER RECOMMEND west as a solo venture. Basement and north have plenty of mobs to hit 60. Even "green con" mobs give you xp. I did 59 in north in 2 days without touching a room.

OP asked for unorthodox and we gave him:-

HS
City of Mist
Seafuries
(other orthodox spots)

Places people don't go to do the mid-50s

Skyfire (plenty of mobs, annoying to kill but doable)
Chardok (try the zone out area, tell the AOE group if there is one you're there - some pullers dont bother with it anyway)
The Hole (easier if someone has cleared the elementals, but still doable...drop down to the lake area and set up there)

Most old world zones get crap after 54 but some orthodox kind of spots...Nobles got a mention, Felwithe guards are good to 54, bugs n bats in Sol B (probably best to set up by the Sol A zoneline), Neriak B guards(?)

how well can a necro do in Kedge?

CoM goo steps never really camped. solid XP there at his level and I grinded away there to 60 when I was bored. The issue with skyfire is how many mobs there are... will have to deal with dispellers and casters as well. I never bothed with the hole since the CR process is even worst than seb. I guess if you bind in there (not sure if you can because technically a raid mob) it can be solid XP with good loam loots. The issue with kunark that there are a limited amount of 50+ zones in comparison to velious.

Allizewsaur in OOT.
Permafrost bearpits.

KC basement.
Burning Wood.
Lguk Lord hall.
Chardok.

HS is terrible.

I used to do the hole on my shaman.

Somewhere in the zone there is a bathtub that you can go through and it takes you to a secret undead area.

Quite well. I did the Ferocious/Patriarch/Frenzied rooms root rotting. High zem zone which makes up a bit for the slower kill rate. Plus you will get some decent loot.

Patriarch can be a bitch with his huge nuke be warned p

You mentioned unorthodox, semi-AFK XP'n, and don't care about loot. So I will recommend brownie guards in Lfay. They are still dark blue @ 60. About 10 min or so respawn time. So you can semi AFK while waiting on respawns. And I have never saw them camped.

Bear pits isn't for necros, trust me I tried lol. Those assholes have wayyyyyyy too much hp, so only charm is a viable strat.

A fun mob cycle is the high level wurms that spawn the wurmscale cloak (http://wiki.project1999.com/Wurm_Scale_Coat) nameds. At 60 the ph's con blue, but you can prob just kill wurms in the area and get a cloak. The 2 are really steady xp for a shaman, I cant promise that all the wurms wont be blue at 55, but the camp would be great for a necro, because there are undead all over. Check -1300, -3000ish.. look for a big burnt spot and a giant 4 pillar tower, with a sarnak statue under it, youll find the 2 PH's among other things pathing around there. Root and camp anything you agro besides the named ph's, or xp you want to kill.

Solb Freeti Trash is my favorite xp 55+ but at 55 you could probubly have a good time in the stone spider room, since you have a pet, you could kill that fucking jerk spider.

The hole, in general will have some fun spots to camp! lots of merbs there.

That's all I can think of right now.. ill try to post more, before vellious opens this up into a ton of new spots, love this topic!

Good.

The 7 plagues befall anyone who attempts to root rot there. It's an abomination upon a holy Druid location to see some unclean shaman or necromancer experiencing down there.

Too much and lots. Go level elsewhere fake Druid. Bears , wolves, spiders and terrors belong to the Druids of P99 who don't get invited to crypt or king or HS South groups.

That's a great camp, slow as hell at 59 but not too hard to do.

Also a great camp if you're leveling baking.

I'm speaking as a Shaman, but there's a great lesser-known place no one mentioned that would likely work for Necros: Neriak Foreign Quarter.

There's one Ogre Shadow Knight named Jacker who is by himself, and you can basically AFK kill him as long as you avoid (or also kill) a wandering green guard. Just be sure to root him and move around a corner so he can't cast on you.

If you don't want to AFK then there's a bunch of Ogre and Troll warriors inside the arena that you can also kill. They have way too many hit points and no loot (I keep meaning to file a bug to get them itemized) but it's peaceful XP that almost no one uses (and even if they do, between Jacker and the arena mobs there's enough for at least three people).

One strange side effect: the arena mobs are the queen's faction, so if the dark elves hate you already then you can actually improve your faction with half of them (the king's group) by killing stuff there.

I killed quite a few bears there as a necro. sorry (not sorry). Was ok. Fear kiting was sketchy but I bet eminently doable if you spend a bit of time there pissing around with pathing. Xp not amazing as it took so damn long, but who cares about that5.
