Hey guys,

I've read every post in this forum, and I can't find a common answer when asked the question...1H/Shield, 1H/1H, or 2H weapons.

I'm only level 7, so have a bit to go before dual wield. I currently have a sarnak battle hammer, green jade broadsword, and chitin shield.

Should I be using my battle hammer or the broadsword and shield?

When I get dual wield, should i go with that?

Any input appreciated. Thanks!

Use your broadsword and shield until you get DW, then use the broadsword and perhaps Sarnak Skullsplitter (http://wiki.project1999.com/Sarnak_Skullsplitter) (if money is an issue, you can pick one up for around 100pp) in offhand.

Once you hit 20, and the damage cap is lifted, I would suggest picking up a Staff of Battle. (http://wiki.project1999.com/Staff_of_Battle) Hands down the best weapon a warrior can get for the price.

Once you hit 37, try picking up a pair of SSOYs. (http://wiki.project1999.com/Short_Sword_of_the_Ykesha)

Acid Etched War Swords (http://wiki.project1999.com/Acid_Etched_War_Sword) are essentially the same as SSOY, but about half the price. The only difference is how they look. Ykeshan War Clubs (http://wiki.project1999.com/Ykeshan_War_Club) are even less expensive and have a better ratio, but... they look like wooden clubs.

I agree with Itap though, Staff of Battle will take you a long way.

Wow you're right. I'll probably save for the acids. Definitely going to get a Staff of Battle at 20 though.

I'll use my Green Jade Broadsword primarily, but keep my Sarnak Battlehammer on me and train 2HB in groups so i'll be ready for it.

Thanks guys!

I suggest not bothering using dual wield when you first get it (unless you have an offhander with a useful proc*).

You attack so rarely with low skill it isn't worth it, and last time I checked dual wield will skill up even when you are wielding a shield!

*I previously noticed off hand procs can fire even when dual wield fails to produce a swing.

My issue with SSOYs is that their DPS agro is going to be very far behind any decently geared melee in your group, and by using them you're putting yourself in a position to completely rely on procs for agro. Higher DPS weapons don't necessarily fix this entirely, as an epic rogue or club/sos monk will still out dps something like wurmslayer/JLS (or Jarsath/JLS on a budget), but the mobs will die faster and you should be able to keep a lead on agro if they flop and evade like they should be. This changes at 50 when sarnak hammer and silken whip keep pretty good ratios while ALSO providing good agro procs.

SSoY = 37

Acid and Club = 40

SSoY = 37

Acid and Club = 40

Acid is also 37 according to wiki. (http://wiki.project1999.com/Acid_Etched_War_Sword)

I AM a big fan of 2handers on all Tanks. But the one problem with them is most all of them are slow and that does very little to nothing to keep Taunt which is sort of your job. Well a lot of your job lol.

I will totally agree that the Staff of Battle is one the best weapons a Warrior can have other than the epic.

So not sure what to tell you. Because Taunt button is pretty much broken on here. And that is NOT CLASSIC trust me.

A Warrior is the hot setup to have and be in Velious. But Taunt is NOT their strong point sad to say on here unless you have the epic, and good luck having that happen with many of you. :(
