After a 4-5 days of intense grinding I had exactly 800pp and 3 gold so yesterday I went to EC to see if I could get a Staff of Battle within that budget. I was lucky and a nice Icky monk sold me one! :)

Earlier today I got my STR buffed by a high level shammy passing by and man, those big hits did wonders for my ego! I would love it to be like that all the time!!
So now I'd like some tips on reasonably priced STR gear to save up for? I have 135 STR at lv 22, but would like to have as much as I can afford as I grind through the levels.

So far I have:
Rusty Spiked Shoulderpads (looted by myself)
Spiked Collar (also looted by myself)
Iksar Scaled Gloves
A Jagged Band
Sebilite Scale Cap
Charred Guardian Chestplate
Bronze Greaves
Crafted Vambraces and Bracers
Charred Boots

Could you suggest an upgrade path to the above based on mainly STR and AC? :)

Treeweave would get you an easy 10 str, but it may be a little pricey to you.

Sarnak Earrings of station 5str each, these rarely drop off some of the caster mobs inside the Sarnak fort in LOIO and are no drop. The ZEM in LOIO sucks, but I love a good fort group.

Sarnak-hide mask for 5str, these drop a lot in Karnor's and can sell really cheap (<100p).

Crested Helm 6str and can sometimes be pretty cheap.

5AC/55HP rings. (http://wiki.project1999.com/index.php/Platinum_Fire_Wedding_Ring) At 500pp/pair max you would be hard pressed to find a piece of gear that beats it from survivabilty to plat spent standpoint.
I know you are looking for STR gear but I'm a rebel I guess.

I loved the Staff of Battle on my Halfling Warrior. Good choice there IMO.

+1 on these rings. 5ac/55hp will do a lot more for you than 5str.

No Tree Weave for little people... :( Sarnak Mask and Crested helm is noted! I already have enough for the mask. I have never heard of the no drop earrings, but it could be a fun (and scary) adventure going there!!

I have the +75HP -10MR (Adamantite Band) next to the Jagged Band, I think I can allow myself to be a bit different from everyone else who has the 5/55 rings.. :P I might cave in and get them anyway though.. And yes, the staff is amazeballs! :)

All the caster mobs outside and inside the fort can drop them. So Adherants, Gem Oracles, Revenants, Revealers. Also, the Legionnaires can drop Bracer of the Hidden (http://wiki.project1999.com/Bracer_of_the_Hidden).

Both drops are pretty rare.

Look for a ledge group there once you get a few levels.

Thanks for the insight! What level would you recommend going there? Currently 23, should hit 27-ish by the end of the week and if the random drop gods smile at me I'll have around 1kpp to spend in EC on the way to LOIO.

Velious.

When Velious launches I'll be banging on the doors to Velks to get my hand wraps! :)

Wait 4 months into Velious, then contact a Grandmaster Dorf Smith for Enchanted Dorf Cultural.

More than that.

Barbed Ringmail. (http://wiki.project1999.com/Barbed_Ringmail)
Spider Fur Cloak (http://wiki.project1999.com/Spider_Fur_Cloak) / Collar (http://wiki.project1999.com/Spider_Fur_Collar)

All drop from upper dogs in Velks. Excellent STR gear for the price.

Also keep an eye out for Orc Fang Earrings (http://wiki.project1999.com/Orc_Fang_Earring).

Velious going to change everything.

I have been eyeing a few of these goodies on the wiki! Ringmail has some very nice stats, and I think I actually had the spider fur cloak at some point. Can't wait! On my live server live about 2001 EW was rarely camped so I soloed (charm kited) the ice giant and Ry'Gorr forts on my bard between mid 30-s to mid 40-s. Some really ok drop from the orcs especially.
