I played EQ with a dongle while driving my car thru the middle of nowhere in the countryside (don't worry, laptop was safely in passenger footwell, I was just staying logged on and parking up every 15 mins for a mob I was camping).
Signal didn't even register a bar out in the sticks but it was enough. Additionally, leaving EQ running pretty much constantly for a month would barely dent a 1 GB plan.
I think if you have even 30kBps you should be okay.

Nice thanks for the responses. I guess I should have been more specific with usage concerns not speed concerns but I have 6GB rolled over for this month so it should be no problem.

Yeah, it was originally played during dial up 56k modem days. Unless you had DSL, then you were a god among mortals.
