due to recent events with the fellow with the mace, i'd like to see a stickied thread just for cyber bullying, hammer out the details as you see fit.

some suggestions, RL info/pictures without consent is a clear cut ban no matter what.

and with stuff like holding recordings of people and shit like that, cyber stalking type shit. that can be handled on a case by case basis.


I think you guys(the staff) have something legitimately serious to address here and I really do believe you should tackle this sooner than later.

epic mage, audio text triggers, park epic pet on PS spawn, go hide somewhere in TT(you can hide in tree's by autorunning with height into them). make sure you bind at the PS camp (or RS camp you can do it for that one too).

go to bed, set speakers to loud as fuck, i made my audio trigger whenever "pained soul" was said on my text, and whenever that happened it would do a computer voice "****** ****** ****** ******" 50 times and i'd wake up.

this is how i used to farm and sell VP keys and keyed my 12 toons. you can also do this for the RS aswell.

edit: i think this method of farming is looked down apon by staff, but nothing was ever mentioned to me and i was never banned/suspended for doing it. afk mage leveling/camping is pretty classic imo

This community has some serious issues, call it toxic, call it cyber bullying, or just people being plain rude. A lot of stuff that we take for granted from a vocal minority of players would be completely unacceptable in real life, or any game run for profit, "hardcore" or otherwise. Even verant didn't allow the kind of abusive language and cyber bullying I see here regularly, in game and in forums, and that was 15 years ago.

Call me a care bear (which isn't true, I've played much more hardcore games than red99.. games in which you lose everything you've done in 100+ hours of gameplay if you die, and people are trying to kill you all the time), call me an outsider (which isn't true, I play on red99 for 6+ hours, 5 days a week), call me whatever. But can you really say you want to be part of a community that accepts, and even encourages, the kind of stuff we see here everyday?

I know I don't, and I know a lot of people in game, who don't post on these forums, who think the same. The most vocal of the people on this forum/ingame seem to very much fit the bill this guy describes and I can very much say for sure that his statement about others looking in before joining most certainly do see what is here and how things go and get turned away. Between the absurd amount of BiS twinks/Dlvlers out there harassing new players(like myself) to utterly incompetent/ignorant shit that gets written on these forums I'm surprised new players even come here at all.

When the things ones things they are entitled to say are hurtful, direct attacks then I'd argue that steps should be taken to suspend / ban that person for being harmful to the community (and an individual). This is ultimately a private enterprise and the dev/ GM team has the right to make that call.
