Hello friends,
Recently a new progression server on EQLive has been announced. There are polls right now as to what type of progression server it will be - with the likelihood, that it will be a progression server that will stop at a certain expansion (i.e. Luclin or PoP, etc.).
I am in the process of forming a guild for the new server. In the mean time I have rerolled some characters on P99 as a sort of run through and to strategize for when the new server releases.
I would like to create a guild that is competitive in raiding, fun in adventuring and helpful in the community.
Also, there are still places for some leadership positions. If you are interested please send me a message. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you all and happy hunting :)

Haha. They're making a new progression server. I read some about it and to my understanding it's supposed to start as true to original EQ as it can - with tradeskills resetting back and classes/races and features only available upon the proper expansion, etc.
I play on p99 some and am now remaking some characters to run through without any outside help from players or my other characters - so I can go in with a good plan. That's what this post is about: to organize a guild that can go into the new server launch with a good direction, have functioning roles and members already connected to adventure with.

EDIT: Nevermind, I did some Google-fu.

You'll probably be competing against Twisted Legion so good luck!

I did the last two progression servers... I dont know. They move too fast and I end up leaving and coming back here. Feels like I wasted my time.
Only positive is you can legit multibox. Downside to that is fuckers run like 12 boxes instead of just having a port/buff bot.
I did have fun on the last progression. Was in a raid guild and all that jazz. Main thing that killed it was the cheats and macro bots poopsocking raid spawns with SK's that would trigger DT as soon as a dragon spawned insta gibbing it.
I could be interested if they did VERY long progression times (which they wont) and stopped it very early.

That's the exact reason a lot of people don't want boxing here. Open that Pandora's box and it'll ruin the fun for everyone.
Give PEQ a try, boxing supported.

No it won't be classic. Yes they will disable a few things like Defiant gear, but they won't set monk fists back to original damage, or mage pets back to non-uber. This means the server will be trash because Day Break Games is very lazy when it comes to anything. If they don't do what has been done here on P99 then there really is no point (if they launch an expansion locked server).

The main problem with these servers is that progression != classic, progression = content locked. I enjoy the classic start areas and don't really want a lot of the extra crap they added to starting characters later on. I also want to see pre-nerfed items drop.

Well we shall see what they do. It wouldn't make sense for them to leave monks and mages scaled to later content and start back at classic. But there are more baffling mysteries than this that exist.
I wish they would go with a classic rule set or invent a time machine to go back to 1999 haha ;) jk
But for those of us who decide to go and adventure - I feel it's more about being able to be the first to re-explore and re-experience Norrath on a brand new server. Helping to establish community and economy.

The problem is they are too lazy to support two server code versions, and that is what they would have to do to roll back monk fist damage to classic era on a new server. Things like defiant gear dropping and turning off some quests they can do without changing the server code (supposedly). Also they keep making the outrageous claim that they "lost" old code/zone files so they can't go back to them.

Maybe they can get some coding from The guys at p99 haha jk!
Well all things aside - I played from classic thru Luclin and came to p99 in September of 2014. I'm looking forward to a fresh server and start to re play the content I loved over 15 years ago :)

For those interested in the guild - what class do you plan to roll?

Actually, that's not outrageous at all. It's totally believable to me. You wouldn't believe the amount of chaos that exists in development shops. People seem to think that dev shops are a bunch of quietly competent nerds, artfully creating things while obsessively keeping records. What a busy dev shop is actually most like is a bus full of screeching monkeys careening down a mountain road desperately trying to steer.

i'll believe that when I see it. its going to feel like everquest with 10 expansions (instead of 20) - NOT CLASSIC
I wish they would ... invent a time machine to go back to 1999 haha ;) jk Rogean and Nilbog already did. And you found it - Project 1999.

I think a lot of people just want something new, not something farmed out for 5 years. This probably won't be it for me because I'm sure they'll leave in a lot of the unclassic features people are suggesting. Holding out hope for the teams 99 server.
