Newfag here. I keep seeing dwarfs (dwarfs only) popping on top me or my animation pet. He will stand there for a few seconds and then pop out of existence. Visual bug, warping, or is dwarven technology is much more advanced here than on blue? Need a neckbeard or autist to explain please.
Here is my diagram...

Cool post.
Some people still experience a glitch on red where if someone logs or zones in, they'll appear briefly in front of you or near you.
If you're new and levelling at or near BB, you'll probably see dwarves more than anything.
I still see it from time to time in some really weird places:
- people on the bank in NFP.
- people sitting behind a fully popped lord room in guk while I'm pulling in.
- people popping in a fully popped named room in HS.
You can tel they're not actually there because they don't agro anything and usually diss appear in a few seconds.

So just an odd Red server thing then. At first I thought it was a warper. You see Sirken on stream and cheat engines that allow you to warp to PC/NPC locs. But after seeing 3 dwarfs pop up on me in about 6 hours of total play time I figured there is no way a problem could be that prolific. Interesting stuff though, I wonder what is causing it.

anytime anyone zones into my zone I see them pop infront of my face for 5 seconds. I can target them, and even open trade window. but then they dissaepar and go back to where they should be.

It's a bug that actually helps you for pvp because you not only see them zone in but can pre-target them and they won't see you.

hayner ( ithink) explained it one time - some changes they did to prevent hacking. something along the lines of sending clients a bunch of fake npc/player locations

If you stand in the back of the Yeti cave in Dreadlands, you can see anyone who zones in appear in the middle of the big cavern and even click on, target, and inspect them.

If it is anything like other servers I've played on, they changed the way PC client data is sent. Basically on Live the location of all players, npcs etc was sent to you for the entire zone. That enabled programs like ShowEQ to map the zone out for you.
Most of the emus only send you data for an area fairly close to you, and not the data for shit on the other side of the zone for example. This has the effect of disabling a lot of the ShowEQ programs because they can't see the data.
A side effect of this is when you first zone over you "see" the players in the zone at the zoneline before their positions are updated to be out of your data range.
Or something like that.
