Light sources that don't go in the offhand?

As a Barbarian, I can't get around a lot areas without my lantern. But I can't dual wield while holding a lantern. Are there any light sources that work from my inventory? Or maybe a glowing weapon/armor?

Greater Lightstone works just fine from inventory.

Yeah Greater Lightstones are the best, always keep one handy.

Put them in a top level inventory slot instead of in a bag.

As others have said, a Fire Beetle Eye or (better yet) a Greater Lightstone in your inventory works great. But that being said, this server (well, really the Titanium client) has serious lighting issues, in the sense that nothing is really that dark. Just turn your gamma levels up a few notches (not so much that it distorts colors or anything) and I bet you'll be able to see just fine without a light source.

And I say this as a fellow night-vision-less Barbarian :)

Fire Beetle Eye is a GREAT idea because they drop often. Greater Light Stone is by far the best.

Quick story for you all:

I'm in WC (I'm a woodelf Bard). A group member (Barbarian) died. He makes his way in zone and it's night time so for me, I don't really notice much other than a color hue difference.

I tell this Barb, "Yo, I am going to sing my most sparkly song so you can see me. I am standing right by your corpse", his response, "OK cool."

I see him run right by me about ...20 maybe 30 yards out and I start getting crazy in /g saying "Dude, I am right here! Where are you going!?"

He responds, "WTF MAN! I can't see crap!" (not exact translation)

I did not respond by typing, but I sat at my computer thinking quickly about the situation and said to myself, "Holy smokes! He's a Barb! He is blind!"

On my human toon I carry a Glowing Stone Band (http://wiki.project1999.com/Glowing_Stone_Band) with me that I bought for 50pp. It has a worn Infravision effect. I mostly use it when I need that extra slot in my inventory for something besides a light source.

-don't quote me- but I believe all the beginner deity necklaces give a great source of light. Just did my troll iinny one and it had a light source which reminded me that the barb one does as well.
