CR in Plane of Fear

So I decided to hop onto EQ late last night and after a bit of fighting in Fear our raid force was PvPed and I ended up dying right near the portal in. I was falling asleep on my keyboard so couldn't wait to get rezzed/ported out so now I'm left with the task of retrieving my corpse. I was hoping some more knowledgeable folks could fill me in on a few questions:

1) I've never been in the breaking group so don't know what happens upon immediately zoning in, but if I zone in will I be able to loot my corpse in safety and get a buddy to port me out, or will I be jumped the minute I zone in? Basically - is the zone in portal safe from wandering mobs?

2) Assuming #1 is no and I successfully loot my corpse and hang out by the West Wall spot, is it reasonable to try as a 56 Monk to make my way inside the temple to the port out? If I bring along invis potions + invis from undead potions + sneak is this possible? I've checked the wiki for mobs that are listed as seeing invis - are there any in particular I should watch out for in case the wiki isn't 100% correct?

3) As this was my second time in Fear I don't know the zone too well and haven't found any maps online, although did find this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPl118Ir-LU) that shows where the exit is - I'd need to walk past 6 mobs or so once I get past the ring of fire. From what I can see I need to sneak past 2 Amygdalan knights (+ pets) and a phoboplasm - can I use Invis + IVU to sneak past?

3a) Can I use the avoidance discipline to just rush past all these guys? Or can they still land hits on me from the back? Also, where does the exit portal place me?

3b) Whats the best route to get to temple? Along west wall?

Really hoping the answer to #1 is a yes, although the masochist in me might enjoy getting to the portal alive.

I'm a monk with FD so I can hopefully flop my way there carefully.

you won't be cr'ing alone unless the zone is already clear. get a bard to kite the zone in area for you so you can loot and get a port then they can agro the temple kite it a bit and zone out.

you will aggro mobs as soon as you zone in

be careful around scarelings due to the fact that they can backstab you for 400-500 damage as well as shadowstep you around, which could place you across the zone

avoid turmoil toads as well; they cast fear and can proc ghoul root if they hit you

everything outside of the fire wall sees invis, but nothing inside the fire wall sees invis except for the wraith of a shissir, which might not even be up

luckily, as a monk, you can feign your way through the zone easily as long as you're familiar with the 1-2 second window of aggro-invulnerability when standing up from a feign death; simply feign death, wait for the cooldown to refresh, stand up, walk a few feet, feign death again, rinse, repeat

if you fail a feign death, just pop stonestance and kite mobs for a few seconds until the feign death cooldown refreshes

also, you're able to right click to start looting your corpse, and then feign death, and the loot window will stay open so you can loot your corpse while feigned

popping stonestance/whirlwind/voiddance and running through the temple isn't an option considering there are tons of amygdalan knights(shadowknights) that will blow you up with harmtouches

going straight north from the portal once inside fear will run you just by the left side of the fire wall; just go up the steps in the front, circle around the back once on top, then drop down a tier or two until you find the back door to the temple, hug the left wall once inside to find the exit portal

the exit portal takes you right outside of the fear portal in feerrott

tl;dr you should be able to handle it on your own as a monk

Shoot the cleric in the opposing guild a tell if you gotta go. I don't know about other clerics, but I would have had no problem ressin ya if you asked for it last night. Ask the opposing cleric if you should plug the res or not.

Thanks for the good advice - I'll try and acquire some pots of IVU and make my way to the portal I guess. Since I'll be running past skeleton pets and the amygdalan I assume I'd need both regular, although won't drinking a second potion cancel invis on the first potion I drink?

If so I'll try and make due with regular as the pets are green and hopefully won't pick them up when I zip by.

nothing inside the firewall sees normal invis minus the wraith of shissar and if you go in LoS of him you went the wrong way.

your best bet is still to get someone capable of kiting the entrance for you first.

this can be done with 1 or 2 people

right where you zone in the portal is clear. there is like a 2 min roamer and a 15 min roamer

just have the monk zone in, fd if needed and just loot the corpse when u can

call the druid in for a port when the portal is clear

or gate pot if you don't have a porter friend

Headed out there tonight with a guildie who ate an exp loss - there was a scareling + spider right near the gate and after 20 min of waiting they didnt move. He zoned in naked to try and get a port up but i wasn't able to grab aggro off fast enough. In the end I decided to try for portal which was a fun experience!

I managed to flop over to wall of fire south west side, but everytime I stood up within 4 seconds I'd have 8 amygdalan knights + phoboplasm or 3 converge towards me. I think I tried to flop over there 5 or 6 times and it happened each time without fail (FD succeeded every time). Stupidly I walked around towards the north to find the ramp up and once again had ~10 or so mobs on me. I FD as one was casting waiting for it to go off and see LOADING...

Spell went off and was a gravity flux on crack - it sent me all the way to 1300, -147 into 2 nightmares + spider. I managed to hold them off long enough for a FD at ~20% health. Managed to flop my way back over wall of fire, but same story with the knights converging on me. Decided to try and stand, get one last jboots charge, and use my invis pot, hoping it would get off before the mob would come on me.

Used it, got up - and was alone (finally). Flopped 6 more times to try and clear any potential aggro, walked up ramp, into room and ran past the last few mobs - had a minor stomach butterfly moment when I had to run past the two skellie pets, but zoned out without a hitch!
