Frey? Fray? Not sure.

Hey P99'ers, I had briefly tried to play p99 last year and got to level 10 on an Iksar warrior. Ended up giving up because of the whole chain thing and just not wanting to play a warrior. On live I played a beastlord and druid box combo which was pretty cool and I am thinking about doing something similar on p99 if it's allowed.
After making a troll shaman last night, I remember how awesome classic EQ was. Getting lost wandering around grobb without a map and dying 5 times in the red pool in the shaman guild.
My question is where do I start here, what quests to do, where to level up, did I make the right choice as a troll shm if I am looking to solo & group about 50/50, where to grind for plat for gear/spells etc..
Any information would be greatly appreciated :)

Boxxing is not allowed. If fact, if you want to have multiple accounts logged into, you will need to get an IP exception. This server is very much anti-boxxing and there are measures in place to identify it.

http://wiki.project1999.com/ will answer all your questions. I would suggest checking out guides for individual class guides on where to hunt and there are a few starting out guides which will give a per level suggestions to level solo or in groups.

Also - Welcome!

IP exemptions are for 2 people who want to play together from the same house - not for neckbeards who don't want to socialize.

If you look at the server list for EQ Emulator you can pick any other non P99 server if you want to box.

That aside, welcome back :p

Haha no need to jump down his throat. He was just saying he boxed on live and was wondering if it was allowed here. But, welcome back!

Thanks guys, didn't know boxing wasn't aloud. And I only did it because groups were a bitch to find and the people you got groups with didn't always know what they were doing.

But anyways it's good to be back.

What do you think about my questions other then boxing (now that I know it's a heated topic on p99 lol)

As in is SHM a decent class to start if I want to solo/group 50/50?

Hey Allant

I just started back playing as well, if you want to level hit me up either on here or in game on Mathian. I'm sure we can find a couple good duo classes if you're interested.

I just started January 18th and am about to hit 50, grouping the entire way. I can assure you finding groups won't be a big problem (Depending on the level, some zones will always be busy and there may be waits; such is the case with Mistmoore, Unrest, which between the two I used almost exclusively to get from 18 to 40. Some zones are empty, like Sol A, but you can build a group and the xp will be pretty good). Also, don't be afraid to hustle and start hitting up people to start a group for a camp spot.

As a Shaman you will be sought after in groups and you will also be able to handle your own in soloing/duo/etc. It really depends on what you want to do. There is a slight xp bonus for full group as well.

Once you get cannibalize (plus if you're a troll or Iksar), then shaman will be pretty OP.

Got to level 3 the other day in the innothule swamp ended up going to the feerrott to avoid swimming after mobs at a dreadful pace, and had someone help me trade the 40p and gear I had on my level 6 warrior from last year, so I got all the spells up to 5 so far and will be grinding xp in the feerrott for a while until I find a better spot to go.

Added Mathius to my friends list Duvall, I will look out for you ingame.

I posit that because boxing is allowed on live it is a bitch to find groups.

Pretty sure boxing is allowed here, but only if you do Beastlord/Druid combo. That's what I heard.
