Rogue epic question

I'm not anywhere near getting this point, just somewhat curious for the future. From what I've heard, parts of the rogue epic are pretty much perma camped in order for people to sell the MQ. Are people largely forced into farming plat in order to get their epic? Or at least rogues? Seems to be the most common MQ. Provided that assumption is true, seems pretty messed up for that to be allowed to be monoplized like that. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

I'd say you'd be tough luck fighting the MQ sellers for parts of the epic.

It's their bread n butter so they'd rather force you to buy one before letting you take bits off their hands for free.

But humanity might be in your favor and you may get a free pass.

Self governing community.

Basically those sort of mobs are first come first serve or if you sit their waiting for them to pop/pickpocket.

P.s. the paladin epic has a few mobs that pop every 7 days and poor paladins have to sit in a cave or forest or deep in a hole for days on end hoping to catch their spawns.

Just the way it is :) pretty sure you can do it no problems but your up shit creek without a paddle fighting the MQers.

Yup. I think your best bet is just to save the cash and do the 5 minute MQ. Once you get in to KC and Seb groups you will find loots to flip for the MQ.

Rogue, Cleric ,and lesser, Shaman, Monk suffer from this. It used to be like a year ago you could do those, now its getting close to buy only those.

Rogue Epic:


2 Pickpocketed Pages - Just camp at one of them and before respawns at 10PM and 8AM (or whatever they are) log in, Pickpocket a few times
Eldreth - 8 Hour respawn, AFK a character there with /logs on while you are at work. He says some text when you turn in the pages/milk to signify he despawned. Show up 7 Hours 55 Minutes after this time stamp and be ready to turn in to Eldreth
Book of Souls - Tag along with a raid in PoHate. The book is supposed to have an 8 hour respawn, but it currently is "instanced", if you don't see it on your character, camp out and log back in and it will be there. If you have a guild, just join them in a PoHate clear
Yendar - 8 Hour respawn again, he roams so the Eldreth method won't work. You will have to make a level 1 gnome or just leave an alt in Steamfont who can run his pathing (Spawns at the druid ring, walks towards LFay, stops about at the road, goes up the road away from LFay, then turns left and goes to the windmill... back and forth)... run this path on a character if you don't see him, check back in a few hours. Turning in and spawning Renux you will need a Druid or Ranger to Ensnare her, then cast Ensnare/Snare/Flame Lick a few more times to keep aggro while they kite it around and you backstab her to death.
General - Call your guild to kill him. There's almost always a dark elf up you could turn in to spawn him.


Pickpocketting is just check back every 70 minutes and try. Eldreth, just figure out spawn timer, see if his next spawn is at a time you can be online and be there when that happens. Yendar check in every hour or two, call in a Druid to port to Steamfont to snare kite Renux for you. Hate and General you need a guild or friends for.

It isn't that undoable. Just takes you a week or two. Heaven forbid on an epic quest :P.

Haha I don't mind it taking time, but I don't want to waste my time simply because people perma camps the mob and end up having an extremely tight window to kill/pickpocket "x" mob. Especially if there's a better chance just farming up the plat to buy the MQ ya know?

I spent 3 1/2 weeks camping Vessel Drozlin for my chanter epic so trust us when we say that a rogue epic is cake, even with all the competition.

The rogue epic is insanely easy, you'll have no problem doing it.

I had to redo it recently for the guise of the coercer quest, and I think it took me one day to do the whole thing solo. Simply ask any 60 druid and they can solo Yendar for you. You can set up a General kill yourself, or easily do it with a guild.

I found most of the guys who are selling them for MQs are perfectly fine with letting someone who is questing their own epic or questing the guise of the coercer to have priority.

The rogue epic is insanely easy, you'll have no problem doing it.

I had to redo it recently for the guise of the coercer quest, and I think it took me one day to do the whole thing solo. Simply ask any 60 druid and they can solo Yendar for you. You can set up a General kill yourself, or easily do it with a guild.

What a fail comment. How is the situation where people can kill one another at camps going to make camping his epic easier? Like he is going to be able to join red and kill the folks who are camping the epic for a MQ? All he'd be doing is trading an abundance of MQ problem for a pvp problem.
That whole "join red and you wont have this problem" comment is stupid. Now instead of trying to reason with an MQ camper he has to try to kill them, and that is easier?

I sometimes do the rogue epic, never had a problem finishing it in a few days. If you and your friends play in off peak times you might get lucky and have it done in an hour. It's not as bad as everyone says.

I was able to pp the notes during last Saturday's morning cartoons no competition and realistically that's going to be your biggest bottleneck of competition and will probably take a few spawns anyway because they don't always spawn with the note. It's not written in the rules that you can't pp the mob just because someone else is there either.

You seemed to come into this thread expecting the worst. It isn't nearly that bad. Many times those mobs will just sit up for hours and not be pickpocketed, turned into or killed.

Sometimes people are doing the quest actively and turning in when they spawn. That's just how EQ is. Sometimes it's camped, sometimes it isn't.

Just check back later if you don't have interest in waiting on it to Respawn.

I farm the MQ, I've done 10-15 in the last month and I have never jumped the line if someone else was there. If someone was there camping the mob, that means they were there where the mob spawns. That is a camp. I've watched many people get line jumped by Dbags and it drives me crazy. I usually screen shot it and let them know I'll help with any petition.
Also, if a rogue is there that does not have an epic, they get priority over my MQ. I think most of us MQers are like that, so do not get discouraged.

I don't agree with it myself and have never done it, but it has been done to me. The thing is, on this server the only thing that matters are the rules and anyone who tells you differently hasn't played here long or are just naïve.

I just mentioned it, because there is a chance that someone who is doing the quest for themselves for the first time might get discouraged when they see "Epicnotebot" at Founy with a half dozen corpses littered around for the 10th time they've tried to get the note for themselves and they should know that they're not going to get banned if they pp it first.

First, Rogue epic even if you had to race to turn in every time would still be by far the easiest epic in the game. Try doing an epic with a Shadowknight, Mage, Necro and then come and complain.
Second, Most of us who do the rogue epics are actually pretty chill about it. If someone is doing their "real" epic we usually stand down. If someone is poop socking Eldreth or Yendar we let them have that turn in and either wait there to get the timer or ask for the the person doing the turn in to give it to us, 90% of MQers are happy to do this. Of course there will always be Dbags who want to line jump for the turn in. But honestly try doing the cleric epic then you can really complain about trying to turn in your item to get your epic. I feel for you clerics! I think the problem here is that the original poster is not expecting to have to work or compete for his epic. That is how absurdly easy this epic is... The expectation is to have it done in a day with little to no work.

I feel for the necros. Maybe 1 slime blood every month or two, heh. Then there's the eye and all that other bullshit o_O All for a weapon with a clicky worse than the vp 2h.
