For a 5th round pick, you serious? Bears really wanted to free up that 3 million

He was going to be a cap casualty anyway, so getting anything for him is a bonus. Not a bad trade, dudes a head case

It's not like the Bears will make it into the playoffs any time soon anyways.

The Seahawks will take NFC again anyway, so watch more of their games and less of the bears and I guarantee you will feel better.

They should try to get rid of cutler lmao. On the bright side, at least the bears picked up a legit coaching staff.

Bears are very smart by trading him and Im surprised they even got a 5th round for him. Cutler is a horrible qb, but marshall was 4th on that team in catches and yards.

I think the bears are doing the silent rebuilding mode so they can get something for these players. Now all they need is to cut cutler, put forte on the market. Grab a Lb with the 7th pick and go rb in the second(melvin gordon is a beast!).
All said and done, I hope they trade with the eagles if mariatto doesnt go to the jets and there future will be set.

Get rid of the big contracts, rebuild a new team, stash draft picks for the next year or 2.

Melvin Gordon is not making it out of the first round lol. And yes, cutler needs to be canned. Idk about putting forte onn the market though, he was theirn whole offense last year lol, though he is getting older.

Cutler will be next because Fox is cleaning house. Forte will stay, likely, but they're in total tear down to rebuild mode right now.

Forte is top 10 rb in the league. But when your team starts rebuilding and knows it is gona be 2-3 seasons before your a playoff contender. Its smarter to get rid of the big contract players, get draft picks and start getting a team of young, low salary players.

Thats why If I was the bears, mariotta is on the board at 7. I call philly and take a 1-2 this year and a 1 next year. Forte will get a 2 and a 6 if he is traded to the right team. With cutlers cap space removed and 2 first round picks this year, 2 second round picks and next year 2 first rounders and 3 2nd if they trade forte. Bears will be a playoff team in 3 years.

Mariota is a system QB, if he doesn't go to eagles he has no shot at a decent career.

Seahawks went after Marshall in FA last time around, bet they were trying to get his services. Hawks going to sign a FA WR.:D

Fox will keep Cutler, it is not up to him. Fox is a figurehead. I would be disappointed if I was a Bears fan at his signing.:D He has no aggression.

the bear cant cut cutler, hes guaranteed 17 million in 2015, and now at least 10million of his 2016 season. no team is going to trade for him to pick up that contract, and theres no way the bears are going to just eat 27 million dollars.

Good lord. What GM gave him such a contract? I didn't know the specifics of his monies. Just floundering around in Texan land waiting for a qb.

They aren't on the hook for the 10mil in 2016 if they cut him before March 12th.

There's still hope.

Eagles traded Lesean McCoy for an injured linebacker with a good rookie season.

my apologoes, they have until wednesday morning for that 2016 10 mil. that said, they arent cutting cutler. and trading brandon marshall was dumb as balls. not marshall's fault the defense was so laughably bad

As a jets fan, I like the trade at first glance. He is just the type of receiver the jets have needed for the last 3 seasons since they lost Braylon Edwards.

Problem is, we still have no one at QB who can throw him the ball. So...It won't matter :)

The day that they signed him to that monster contract was one the best days of my life. I was so happy for all the Bears fans I knew. It basically guranteed us 2 wins every regular season and one less team in our division to compete with in the playoffs.

i had no beef with Cutler until they gave him that contract. he was lifetimes better than rex fucking grossman or kyle orton. and with a medium contract, you could have cut cutler without eating almost 30million dollars. but now, he cant be cut and he knows it.

Alshon's life is gona get a lot harder when he starts seeing all those #1 CBs on every team.

Granted Cutler has started more games, but as of right now, Cutler and Orton have the EXACT same career win/loss percentage. Cutler has the canon arm, but Orton is smarter. I've never seen him throw 4-5 picks in a game and outright lose a game for his time, like I've seen Cutler do on several occasions. If you're gonna lose, at least you'd have saved money sticking with Orton. Just my observation. Hey, Rex Grossman at least managed not to screw up enough to get you guys to a SB!
