Am I missing something here? Can't get past login screen.

Hey all, I've been trying to get proj 1999 to work and haven't been able to log in. I followed the instructions on the setup area three times now and checked all the steps in "http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94928" and still can't establish a connection. At the log in screen I keep getting the can't connect error and I would love to figure this out so I can dive into Norrath again! Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

When I ping it request timeouts. Tried both normal login and login2 on host file. Any ideas?

for what its worth ive been playing here for about a year now and all the sudden started having problems today its probably not your client, something is going on

I ended up finally getting in. Wasn't able to pin point the problem but I reformatted my labtop to factory settings and retried the steps from a clean slate and it worked first try.

I started playing a few weeks ago and I've been consistently plagued by login issues similar to what has been described here. I haven't identified rhyme nor reason as to why it happens or what eventually gets me in. I don't think think it is anything on any users' ends; as I try restarting, reformatting etc, but inevitably what gets me in/seeing servers/connecting to servers is repeatedly retrying.

I haven't made any changes to my client and this problem started recently. Leads me to believe that its a server side problem.

I've restarted the client multiple times, and rebooted, too, but no luck: I can login just fine, but the server select screen is empty, it lists no servers at all.

Try flushing your computers dns cache, might help. open cmd, then type ipconfig /flushdns

Been playing here for a year and a half with zero issues..Same problem as others.. Not about to go dumping through settings when I've never once had an issue before.

Definitely drastic haha. I don't recommend it but it was a secondary labtop and I was out of ideas :/

I was having the same issues yesterday. I kept getting the blank server select screen or timeout error when logging in. I just kept trying to log in and restarting the client until it worked. This has only been happening recently. Maybe the login server is getting clogged with the uptick of server population.
