Started playing Nostalrius but I remembered I only found wow PvP fun in beta and live pre BG. Attacking the under city on thunder lord soon after live released for no reason other than to PvP was one the best times I ever had in an mmo.

BG killed world PvP in my opinion. Some people like BG and I even had fun sometimes in matches. I am really looking for mmorpg world PvP though.

Before anyone says it I realize that many did not like wow world PvP bacause there was no tangible reward. I loved it just for the sake of PvP. Sure it would have been better to have exp but too easy to exploit unless those killed lost exp and that would kill profits. Item loots? Nah same problem.

One day I hope to find a UO type of game, so sad I missed that one.

Doubt there would be one, but I know what you mean. World PvP or at least large scale.
DAoC and Shadowbane were my favorite pvp MMOs. Seems like nobody remembers Shadowbane.

Had a good fight with some Alliance people outside Wailing Caverns tonight... obviously they were outnumbered but they were also higher level.

It's out there, you just need to find it... or head out there yourself. Plenty of world pvp in Stranglethorn <3

That's how I remember it; so many gankings ...

If you're in to world PvP you should check out other MMOGs though. Star Wars Galaxies has PvP baked in (ie. every server was PvP) and all PvP was world PvP.

As Foxxhound said, DaoC also had world PvP, but IIRC the PvP areas were separate from the PvE areas. At least they weren't instanced battle grounds though.

Well in very classic DAOC it wasn't all that rare to find PvP in the "PvE" areas since a lot of people would glitch past the gates.

That eventually got fixed but it was interesting while it lasted.

Shadowbane was glorious and no one ever knows what I'm talking about when I bring it up.

Large scale world PvP died 100% due to dishonorable kills. If someone on your raid got you a single dishonorable kill, it could set you back weeks of progress. Shit was retarded.

Has nobody told you SBEmu is a thing? It's got a new beta release going live here super soon with a character wipe. It's surprisingly well made and has a really decent population for how niche Shadowbane is.

Not sure why but I never tried shadowbane. After checking out that link it looks worth trying for sure. Thanks for posting this.

Why dont I remember this? I remember honorless targets, but not dishonorable kills.
