Hey, everyone. I was thinking about trying Project 99 after reading about it a bit and was going to start playing this weekend. My question is about class desirability. I have played other EQ servers where some classes just didn't seem too desired because there were too many of them or whatever reason. I have my choice narrowed down to a shaman or a necromancer. Would either choice be fine? is one in greater need than the other? sorry for the dumb question I've just been burned in the past on other EQ emu servers.
Thank you.

As far as grouping goes, shaman will have much more desirability. Lots of necros I've seen solo, not saying they won't find groups though. Honestly, just play whatever sounds most fun to you.

Reese is spot on. Shaman are generally more desired in groups, though many (most?) people don't care who jois a group so long as they have a healer and a tank ^^ play what you enjoy and you can't go wrong ^^

shammy gear is also great bang for buck on this server with so many specific shaman items costing pretty low and yielding nice gains.

Play what sounds cool to you.. The classes that are great in groups are often over played so just play which class role idea sounds the coolest.. Powerful sorcerer with undead pets and poisoning spells your thing? Necro.. Ritualistic priest type with buffing and debuffing specialties sound better? Shaman

Necros aren't bad DPS but culturally, they have a "lone wolf" reputation about them, so they're not as likely to be invited to a group as most other classes.
Shamans are like swiss army knives in groups and can cover many roles.

whatever class benefits other people is highly desired
enchanter (for C)
druid (for ports, sow, PL buffs)
cleric (for rezzes)
