Assuming 1.5 fungis drop in a day, 2190 would be the math. Taking in that some get deleted, lost, stolen, etc. about 1800-2000?

None are destroyed, they rot on the account until the staff decides to have a giveaway from an event. I bet it's easy to tell certain things by item IDs from these as well :).

Fungis are important for allowing players that don't want to spend so much time grouping horde more ExperienceYieldingEntity s. I mean, can you imagine a world without fungis?

there was 2 mistwalkers dropped from vox I think, and then a couple more were dropped during that halloween event years ago
probably 4-5 of them total in existence at most

It went through several patches before they just removed it from Vox's drop table. Decreasing in proc rate, then back up.
Originally, you could proc it and the pet would stay with you and would double for something like 70 dmg and you could buff it up.
1st nerf, Cant hp buff pet
2nd nerf, Cant rune pet
3rd nerf, Once pet procs and hit the mob, the mob will super aggro it
killing it within 1-2 hits.
Finally, it was nerfed: Mistwalker will once again cast its spell as often as it used to prior to the last patch. However, the resulting pet will now automatically "dissipate" after one combat round. The change that reduced the "proc" percentage on the weapon was made due to an unintended interaction between the pet and the target when several users of this weapon were attacking the same target. Since the new pet now automatically dissipates after one round, the reduced "proc" percentage was no longer necessary.
So it is basically a fancy form of dd proc.

That's probably just the item ID for a fungi in the database.

This is probably correct. On live, the ID is 2036 (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=2036)
I'm assuming their ID's are different because most of the server side stuff had to be remade from scratch.

That's exactly what it is. All Fungi have that ID, regardless of when they dropped.
Another interesting thing would be what items have the fewest instances outside of artifact items?
