Hopefully this helps some folks out there.
I use 2 monitors, one for EQ the other for whatever. I decided I might try using fullscreen mode on the one monitor and it made EQ crash. I thought "no biggie, ill just reopen EQ and uncheck full screen". It doesnt work that way though. I couldnt get past server selection before I was crashing again. Getting some memory error!
I kept trying to go into the Eqclient.ini file and change settings or revert to default, but that doesnt work either. It seems like the EQ game wont load those new settings until after you get to the character selection screen.
So what i finally had to do, was make sure that my screen resolution was the same as what I had selected in the EQ options (you can change EQs resoloution in the very first menu before you login). For me that happened to be 1024 x 768. Once i had matched resoloutions i was able to get into the char selection screen, then my eqclient.ini file was read and I noticed I was back to defaults.
