SOE isnt the owner anymore
they will only have EXP Pots and cosmetics as microtransactions

There's one idea in that thread I really liked. Transfer-based expansions. Being able to play on Classic, having Kunark released after a few months - but having to transfer up to that server, and never being able to transfer back.

I'd enjoy being able to play with people just on the original game for as long as I wanted, and moving on to Kunark at my own pace when I get bored.

It would be enough to make me consider joining up. I doubt it'll happen though, at least not for every expansion. That'd be a 25 server investment, or whatever number we're at now.

I'm worried about the boxers as well. I ended up friends with one guy who permacamped lguk/frenzied ghoul with 6 boxed characters while at the same time he camped for golden efreeti boots. Later on took over a few major spawns with 18 characters. And this was on Fippy Darkpaw.

Heck in classic and I think a little into Kunark, Shadow Knight bot armies were used to dominate content:

It was a Nuclear arms race between many guilds but mostly TL and Citizen. Everybody was racing to get their SK bots up and running to dominate the poop sock. I remember seeing Trak spawn and die before his feet even hit the ground. No for real, you know how when mobs spawn they do so just a teeny bit in the air then fall to the ground? Yeah he died before even touching the freaking ground. It was a dumb and embarrassing time for everyone involved.

not gonna lie, id probably try it, i always miss the launch of these. although i heard nothing but bad stuff, nothing beats starting on the same level as everyone else (except enabling pvp.)

Well you do have to sub to play on the TLPs, and the only real P2W thing EQ has is exp potions...which from the sound of this FAQ that they had for Flippy, might not exist for the first few expansions.

yeah, but people think 10% EXP Pots are paying to win :P you can buy all the EXP pots you want, but if you dont EXP while they are on, ur screwed :P

Yeah that's bad, and they revamped Highpass but they didn't touch Highkeep... so you go from that weird looking "modern" zone to old skool Highkeep like that's the way its meant to be :/
