Hello,
I was wondering if a Rogue unfunded and solo would be a disaster of a headache or just aggravating enough for me to remove my neighbors man parts with cooking sheers?
I can't group due to real life, less a couple days a month, and even though I've read here that ones first character should be something that can easily solo to fund something else later I'd still rather just do the latter sooner then later.

Up to mid teens you can solo. It's not very efficient however . Obviously the better your gear the more efficient. However rogues shine in groups. Backstab only works from behind and is incredible damage comparatively.

I would go monk, necro, and mage are three classes that can be played solo and naked well.

Agreed, if you cannot duo or trio or group with the rogue... You're going to have a BAD TIME... I don't see you getting 20+
Play one of these classes mentioned to farm items to super twink a rogue so you can make it to level 30-40 instead.

As a rogue, you'll find it easy to find a pick-up group. At about the same time that you stop being able to solo, groups in Unrest will start taking rogues for the extra DPS, even if you can only do half an hour or so.
It sounds a lot like you would make a good <Unreliable (http://unreliable.guildlaunch.com/index.php?gid=341668)> rogue.

Would intimidate effectively let a rogue fear kite?

They get it at 22. And then you have to skill it up for it to actually work and by 22 its just more effective to be in a group. But yes you can fear kite as a rogue.

Yes, this + a serrated bone dirk or two + a healthy supply of bandages to be safe = profit ^^ can pick up the dirks for 100pp each or less and they proc engulfing darkness necro dot which provides a 1min snare.

Speaking from personal experience you can totally solo as a rogue... BUT be ready for crazy bad exp, lots of running for your life, buying lots of bandages, and finding +hp gear for every slot and possibly carrying around extra gear to swap out this hp gear. I solo'd quite a bit on my rogue back in the day and it did work but the only reason I ever did it was because I couldn't find groups.
Basic setup is running two Serrated bone dirks (http://wiki.project1999.com/Serrated_Bone_Dirk) and using intimidate (also carring around other weapons for after snare/fear stick). You could try a polished granite tomahawk also but I found it didn't proc enough to be really worth while. The biggest trick was having a bag full of big +hp gear to swap in when binding wounds and then swap back out (or maybe it was the other way around?) to beat the %health cap on the skill. Also I got very good a strafe running (not sure if that is a thing here but made you faster on live) and bailing on fights very early if things looked bad.
Anyhow I would totally advise against soloing as a rogue, especially non-twinked. You will have a hell of a time getting the cash together for the gear required to solo (its not uber expensive but at ~100-300 per slot for big hp gear it adds up) and even then you are going to be trying to find "light" blues or the greens that still give exp or if you can find them blue casters you can burn down (you can duck behind them as they cast to BS, and if a barb you can slam to interrupt). I would just pick a different class to start, if you still want a rogue then wait till you can twink it up a bit to enable solo'ing. I remember carrying around bags full of situational gear (a few big resist items for caster for example) to allow me to better deal with the fact I shouldn't really be solo'ing.
