I'm thinking of rolling a druid here. Are they any good for the pvp server? Also is there any friendly noob guild here? I hear that the pop is real low.

Druids are the class that everyone wants to have access to for shit, but nobody wants to play as a main.

Druids here are going to have the same PVE advantages/disadvantages as on Blue.

The optimal level for a PVP druid seems to be 54. By that time you have your best offensive spells and are in range to all but the highest level of other players. As a social PVPer being able to move your team around the world to respond to friends in distress is a huge advantage.

But just as druids are "jack of all talents, master of none" in PVE so too are they in PVP. You're not the best PVP healer and you're not the best PVP nuker.

If you want to play the role of Healer; I would advise Cleric or Shaman. Cleric; best healers nuff said. Shaman; able to heal and as of this patch arguably the most powerful, well rounded PVP class able to excel in the role of healer, DPS, and support.

If you want to play straight offensive caster then wizard. No SoW, heals, and clothy armor/hitpoints is going to make you an easy mark for rogue PKs.

Druids shine in small group PvP when you can't have all the classes. Druid duo with many classes work well together and the ports are a must.

Wiz is going to work really well solo if that is what you want to do. Also do well in larger groups where all the roles are filled by other classes because once you have all the utility you need, adding efficient dps is always good.

I used to think druids were pretty good because of smallmee's domination.

However, I would love to 1v1 a druid now that the resists are changed and I have 140+ Cold and Fire resist, I think it would be laughable.

My druid just dinged 34 here last night. This is not meant as a statement about druids through all levels and in all zones on this server, but I'd have to say that rolling a druid here has been much more enjoyable so far than it was on blue.

Keep in mind that lvl 34 you get all of your ports except misty and EJ evac, so your income potential is very high. If you continue leveling, you get better at plvling, but 34 is still a good level for druid income. If leveling/pvp past 34 begins to suck, at least I'll have the income potential to quickly twink a new char. So how was leveling to 34 on this server? Straight up awesome. Levels flew by, and I was able to charm, heal, and usually pull in groups. Basically I got to feel like an enchanter, the key member of the group.

14-20ish: crocs in oasis
20ish to 26ish: LoIO windmill cats
30ish to 34 (and higher): Cazic-thule (gorilla pet ftw)

If you get the opportunity to group with 3-5 other players elsewhere, of course go for it, but if you're not enjoying those places (CB/unrest/MM/etc.), make your own group somewhere with animals. Unlike on blue, people are absolutely desperate to group up while leveling.

Yeah people playing classes that are "underpowered" and performing well are the worst players in eq.
