Hey! I've been watching these forums for about a year now. but haven't been anywhere I could use internet on my own computer...for about a year now lol. Anyway, I finally have internet and just got done going through the whole install of Titanium and what-not. Followed all the EQemu instructions and p99 instructions to begin playing. Then, I finally get to the server selection screen, try to log into p99, and get an error: "Error 1017 Cannot log into the Everquest server. You may need to re run the update patch" But I can log into other servers. Just not p99
Someone please help me!

Please! Someone help me. I've longed for the classic Everquest experience for so long now. It's finally right there in my grasp only to be jerked away right at the last minute. Devastating, really...

Have you tried reinstalling and going step by step through the install guide? Because it really sounds like you missed one.

My best guess is that you've either allowed it to patch, or didn't change your hosts file. If you do uninstall, delete the folder afterward to be on the safe side, eq leaves a ton of crap behind.
Hopefully it's the hosts.txt

Thank you guys very much for the suggestions! It isn't the eqhost file. It's so weird, every server EXCEPT the one that matters works. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

If you want to be really thorough, it might help to start a word document, and use the alt-print screen button (takes a screenshot of your current window and adds it to clipboard, which can be pasted via ctrl-v to Word) to make screenshots of the whole process and have Uth or someone else troubleshoot it to see what you're missing.
My bet is that you're missing a really minor step somewhere along the way, or you have some slightly weird contextual problem (networking/port issue, etc) that's preventing you from connecting.

I really appreciate the help. I think I'm just going to wait and see what happens when I get out of Afghanistan next month. The internet isn't very good at all here so I have a feeling thats my problem. I'll just troll around on the forums a little while longer, reading the posts and playing the game in my mind lol :P
