I had already came to this conclusion when I saw the PG-13 rating.

When I saw that Shia was in it, I figured it wouldnt score more than a 6.5 on IMBD ;/

Mr. Le Boof was the best part about it.. He did what he could with a shitty role and shitty writing, but even that could not save this juggernaut of suck.

Talking about wall street, and me not being able to start threads, imma hijack this one.
Im going to New York city in 2 weeks, gonna rent a bike and drive around. Any locals wanna suggest some cool shit to see? Some nice places to eat (like cheap but good, gonna eat at Maoz at some point in the trip)?
Im going to bike around williamsburg in Brooklyn, lower east side/chinatown. Gonna go to harlem eat some soul food. Beside that nothings planned.

Chinatown: a vietnamese place on Baxter st. between mott and canal (iirc) called Thai Son (Its not Thai food, and has nothing to do with anyone's son). Get the calamari (salt and pepper squid) and any of the grilled meats or Pho, hell, its all good, and so cheap. Get a vietnamese coffee too if you want to know the experience of taking PCP without actually breaking the law.

Speaking of remakes,
It's not a remake.
The main character from the first movie just got out of prison. (Or at least that's what I was lead to believe from the trailers.) So it's actually a sequel.
the Thing remake comes out next April.
I too am afraid of them ruining a classic.

Wait a second. You are saying Shia LaBeouf was the best part of the movie? HAHAHA. Wow, it really must be fucking awful then.

Thx for the NY feedback. I will definatly hit that vietnamese place, pho soup is one of my favorite foods.
I was gonna go to grimaldi's in Brooklyn for the pizza, any feedback on that? Yay or nay vs your suggestions? Last time i didnt have time to prepare anything we just headed into the car and went, now i got some time to prepare which is nice.
Again sorry for hijacking this very important thread XD
Any feedback on Bed-stuy? I was planning to go down there on bike, i dont stick out like a sore thumb cuz i dont look like a tourist, its hard to explain but i just dont. Im just hoping the bikes available for rent dont break the "camouflage". Do the right thing from spike lee is one of my favorite movies, and id really like to go bike around in bed-stuy, how rough is it down there in 2010?

Think that's bad? They're remaking True Grit starring, Jeff Bridges.
That's right. The Duke Abides!

Meybe they r running out of ideas.

The first one was fucking terrible, too. I recently caught the scene where Gecko has just dropped the bomb on Buddy, and Buddy and Daryl Hannah's character were fighting in the condo. Talk about bad acting.

Thanks, now I know you are a retard.
You have to take into consideration the time the movie was made. Some people who have never seen the original star wars make the same comments you do, "pshaw, the acting was el terrible." Try watching another fucking movie from the 70's or early 80's and compare them.
Most of the classic and epic old movies watched now the acting is "terrible" to todays standards or when taken in context of the current generation.

This is kind of silly, actually extremely silly. Lumping in all acting from a time period as terrible? I'll list just one movie from your specified time period as a reference point:
Apocolypse Now! (1979) - Martin Sheen basically deconstructs onscreen.
Edit - Second inclusion, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) - Jack Nicholson is absolutely amazing in this portrayal, one of my favorite and probably his best works as an actor.

To add to what Kraftwerk was saying, just watch any of Akira Kurosawa's movies from the 50s (Stuff like 7 samurais, the hidden fortress) and be amazed by the acting. Its the type of movies that takes a long time to age, the camera work and acting is so good that without the black and white to give it away i wouldnt have trouble saying these movies were filmed much later.

Ohhh, I like your taste. Both of those films are fantastic. Toss in The Deer Hunter and you have a good weekend.

Toshiro Mifune is one of my favorite actors across all genres. Watch Throne of Blood if you get a chance, I love what he did with the character of Macbeth in that film.
