I play a non-twinked Monk and am not having much success at PvP against casters; recently I was jumped by the Druid ring in Feerot by a red druid and although I survived I found to my surprise that I couldn't hide behind objects to break line of sight on his spells.

I played Tallon Zek back in the day and I recall being able to break LoS by hiding behind objects - is this not the case here?

outside zones there isnt line of sight at all

inside zones you can avoid dmg, but have to be behind a wall before the cast begins

If you are inside and the caster begins casting at you (which means the see you) you can run around a corner and it will reduce the range they will be able to cast. So if you get far enough away, and are also breaking their los, you can avoid the spell.

Water also breaks los and will prevent the cast from hitting you - both inside and out - regardless of distance from the caster. So get near a body of water and if you're submerged while they're over the top then the spell will go off, and waste their mana, but you will not be affected by it. Same if they're underwater but you're out.

Wow thanks for the info here - underwater breaks everything? Maybe now I can try to go hunting Seafuries and be less worries about having a 1 hour CR if I die.

Is there any reason to remove LoS outdoors? I recall it existing on live although it was 16 years ago so maybe I'm not remembering correctly.

if they are underwater too they can hit you so don't count on that lol

LoS doesn't work here. Y-axis (e.g. someone levitating above you) melee doesn't work either. Water does work.

Also, malosini and blind and poison dots currently land 95% of the time even if you're wearing resist gear. Hopefully a fix is coming for that, but in the meantime just prepare for an assraping if you're attempting to pvp any of the classes that can abuse that.

feel free to hit me up in-game on Seary. Played a Monk on TZ and play one here.

Casting on classic used to ignore Z axis. You could blow someone up by casting spells while standing under them in kelethin. Things sound fairly classic.
