I brought up in ooc, and I think it would be really awesome if instead of the highly structured arranged pvp events (which aren't all that red) the server had Purge days, much like the movie THE PURGE, fro what I saw of the previews....

Turn off /anon & /role and let the wolves run wild once or twice a month.... make the bluebies huddle up in fear in cities while the red wolves roam the lands and enjoy life.

My other idea of making everyone have one character name that applies to all characters on the server per account would be awesome for transparency... not classic and lose some immersion, but with us nuking names left and right that's going downhill quick too unless you're an oral hygiene product. I doubt GM's would be willing to explore that option, but if they would... I can't imagine how awesome it would be seeing everyone on their best behavior without the ability to hide behind 'troll' characters and personas in game. They'd have to be real people and develop real personalities instead of being scum on alt twink griefers and ooc troll toons. It would clean up half the server issues in one fell swoop...

So would putting a member limit on guilds

So would putting a member limit on guilds

That would fix the other 50% of the problems on server ;)

Even if this could be enforced people would have unguilded alts that are still with the guild :/

It would help though. Because their mains would be the only ones tagged in one guild then... and not have so many warm bodies in one guild... and eventually different tags = betrayal. Always. Guaranteed no matter what you split any guild in two and you will get people killing one another more.

One name per account. You think this would stop troll characters? On a free server? Cause its so hard to make a new account people just wouldn't go through the hassle of making 20 of them. Guild size limit? Why? If people want to "zerg" as its often stated, they'll just form multiple iterations of the same guild. Could that cause fractures among multiple umbrella guilds? Sure I guess. But won't a guild fracture after a certain amount of time anyway?

At least makes it a hassle. And they can monitor IP as well... anyone without IP exemption = 1 name. Stricter monitoring, less boxing. Better server.

Main point of thread is a purge day though... would be so fun. Other stuff just side comments from other thread that got derailed. Main point here is idea for a fun GM event monthly or weekly, that effects entire server, and promotes PVP health. I think Purge Day would do this well. Not sure how possible it is to turn off anon/role for a day but idea got a lot of positive feedback in game when I mentioned it.

what a stupid thread

because GM organized fight nights are so much cooler than if people could guerilla strike zerg targets who aren't stacked up 20 deep because no one can hide....

Expected results from forum trolls after tons of positive feedback in game on idea *shocker*

This isn't rants and flames. Don't come in here posting photos you collected while looking for love on craislist.

Say something constructive or critical, that took though, and is pertinent to whatever is being discussed, or GTFO. I am truly sad for the people who hide behind a troll persona on the forums and are to scared to have a real personality people might hate anyways, so they just try to be obnoxious.

Now back on topic; Other guilds don't have the player base to live track targets in countless zones... I for instance, sweep 2-3 zones on 3-4 toons each night when I log in to look for some PVP fun before retiring to grinding levels on whichever one of my toons can find a group.

If I had a day I knew I could log in and /who all level range to PVP that's all I'd do that day.

why not just turn off role and anon permanently?

seriously, could argue to remove the zone from global /who, but why is everyone hiding?

That is an interesting idea... removing the zone so people can more readily find groups etc. That would REALLY promote red growth. It isn't always so much people being blue but people have to level up and solo play isn't possible and that would let people find groups easily if nothing else. For now you have to occupy the harshest twink infested zones for readily available groups and ooc inviting opens you to potential grief too.

But otherwise, it would lead to people being camped off the box/forced LnS every time they zone if you couldn't hide zone from other players.

Very interesting idea though, I like it! Good brainstorming and critical thinking for small changes that make big impacts on red99. Anyone else got any crazy awesome ideas?

Removing /anon just results in people constantly /who'ing the zones next to them and logging before pvp can ever show up

Ports and bind/gate impact that as well though... you'll never be able to fully stop people who avoid it, they will just run when you get to them all the same. This just increases encounters drastically.

Your logic is flawed because they just plug and gate and log as is if they don't want pvp... they just get to live a more PVP free life at present.

This is kind of a Sullon zek era idea, but lets keep in mind all those servers had thousands and you can't just run games here like you did in the past. If you want some kind of wild uninhibited ffa then host a botb.

If we had thousands we wouldn't need to encourage ability to have random pvp, and it doesn't just encourage pvp but also helps finding groups. Even if anon/role only hid your zone and not level/class.

The fact that we have a severely lower population makes the concept that much more effective, for both PVP and PVE gameplay.

What are you talking about

At the moment you have at least the time you zone in to the spot they are at to try and stop them from getting away, with anon removed as soon as ou would zone into Dreadlands a group doing Verix in KC could log out

Not a sharp lad are ye

I bet you are wrong. But only one way to find out...

I think the pixel addiction is too strung for everyone not to log in... I also think if nothing else anon/role still showing level amd class wouldnt hurt and promotes better server health because you aren't force to join a zerg guild to find groups...

I dont think half the zerg is there for pixels from raids. They want to log in and have an xp group going in under 30 minutes. There is currently 1 of 2 ways to accomplish that... Join zerg or enter heaviest twink grief camped zones on the box to find quick groups.

Alright so let me see where your coming from. Your saying we have no random pvp on here ? Is that it?

Bodybagger
02-07-2015, 12:19 PM
I am saying we have less random pvp and less grouping than we could. Do you really like the current CB>UR>MM rush we send newbs through in a gambit of flying xp and twink barrages? I'd much rather people be able to effectively group anywhere and griefers to at least have to work for their free kills.

1. <Holocaust>
2. <Holocawst>
3. <Not Holocaust>
4. <Definitely Not Holocaust>

... if you get what i mean. There's workarounds, and less obvious ones.

Bodybagger
02-07-2015, 12:33 PM
Of course, but it at least splits them up some how, and that rift expands and turns into betrayal. Like when Holocaust gets more pixels than Holocawst at the raid... or when Not Holocaust and Definitely Not Holocaust team up to steal a mob...

It's still impossibly to field more than XX number of unique characters within one guild if you limit the player cap, and at least creates a tiny roadblock in the zerg infrastructure.

Alternatively, they could cap the number of players tagged one tag within one zone as well, but then same as before it's only a minor tiny roadblock.

Still though, I think the anon/role thing is a great idea and should be explored and tested.
