Dexluee < Azrael > destroyer of the 60 bracker
Smallme destroyed the mid 50's bracket.

Make sub 50 PVP not count, it just encourages griefing.

I am sure plenty of Holo want to shed their pre 60 ganks, ect.

You know we already have a thread on this topic - http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180093

don't need to make another thread every time a thought crosses your mind - well maybe you do, but don't expect me to come find this thread when we're coming to a decision regarding leaderboard scoring

or just remove points completely and it solves p much every issue

I actually use the points to confirm who is a total douche. Toons with high score and no/few deaths are confirmed twinks and not worth respecting imo. Points are no good for anything else.

Please keep them and do not reset.

just do KDR, points were cool conceptually, but don't work in practice

agreed. unless it was able to pull level information and associate that with the toon it's pointless. hell just get rid of it all together and you'd probably see more pvp.

leaderboard is a fun part of this server, whether you agree or not

points or no points, doesnt matter

K/D ratio only, not sure how I feel about it. but willing to try other stuff

Points the way they were on this leaderboard didn't work because it tilted heavily towards those who were active the first week or two of LB and were able to get inflated points per kill off everyone who was 5 points, as well as those who raped newbs on their way to 60. For those who became active later on @ 60, there's almost no one to kill worth anything as the top people such as Barcode are almost never found in open world PvP.

Good point - thats why there needs to be modifiers, imo -

-zone modifier
-level modifier
-modifier for killing in different consecutive zones (i.e. not every kill is in the same zone)
-guild modifier ?
---- just a few suggestions

Pretty hard to make a leaderboard that accounts for level, I do have an idea however, Do it by zone. For example make Cb kills worth 10% of a regular kill. Crushbone seems to have become the twink pker zone of choice, with guys like imawizard racking up 100s of kills, Imo kills there should only take 1% of someones points instead of say 10, and in mistmoore maybe up it to 4%. Open world zones would remain 10%, but could scale by level in the noob zones. Any zone that could go up to 60 (solb etc) would also be 10%, and if a noob zone scaled pretty high I'd just assume its the max level player getting a kill.

I like the traveling modifier idea, personally. Can ramp up another modifier for each kill from different zones in a row - e.g.

Kill 1 - Gfay - mod 0%
Kill 2 - Lfay - mod 1%
Kill 3 - MM - mod 2%
Kill 4 - Unrest - mod 3% -

cap at 4 kills or so ...

guild modifier example -

Rank guilds by total points and assign a mod for killing someone with that guild tag.

Guild 1 - 1st - 100 pts - 5% mod
Guild 2 - 2nd - 95 pts - 4% mod
Guild 3 - 3rd - 80 pts - 3% mod

no way.. the leaderboard is already an infos leak.. just by looking someone up on it you can track alot of information about them. for instance you can find average play times, favored zones, and you can even guess at that player's skill.

imo the leaderboard is NOT CLASSIC and, if anything, should be removed.. not given new functions.

Anyone can track this information, though, all you have to do is turn on your logging and get a parser. Then, using other computer skills, you can insert it into a database and find out all kinds of stuff. I could set all this stuff up and make a website to show it if I wanted to ... or just do it for my own eyes. The thing, if anything, would be the YT itself --- that's the real leaker.

Man during downtime when only 50 people online, Lite is at least 3% of the people online!

Respect his opinion!
