As amazing as Argh's "Arghwork" was in his "Raiding in class R" (http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=177066) thread, my favorite post was Cucumbers' tongue-in-cheek proposal:

Fuck it, throw in summoning with just proximity aggro (i.e., 100% health). Stealth patch.

Of course this will never happen on the grounds that it is not classic, but it's interesting to consider its implementation because it would immediately eliminate a LOT of unclassic behavior which goes on here, including:


Chardok AE
Pulling raid mobs to zonelines
Training entire zones around in order to mobilize everyone to raid mobs

Again, this is not something that will ever get implemented, but one could argue that perhaps some form of 100% summoning should be implemented. At the very least it's fun to think about the effects it would have on the high end scene here.

Perma rooting raid mobs has this same effect and was done all throughout the luclin expansion. They realized how fucking homo it was and it wasn't really replicated in PoP :p

I'm unaware of any EQ or p99 related pixels that are not a total waste. Summoning & perma-rooted mobs & scripted encounters are all attempts to deal with the incredible weakness of MMO AI, scripted encounters were the best of the lot. Be more interesting to see the devs turn their hands to creating some interesting raid scripts as custom content,
