View Full Version : Global OOC
I'm new to red but I seem to remember reading somewhere about taking away global OOC and implementing a sort of region OOC.
Is there still a plan to do that? I've ended up putting OOC in a minimized window because the toxicity of it makes it unreadable. I honestly think that global OOC is a huge thing that would drive away new players - seeing the negativity and aggression is really turning me off on the server.
Inb4 go back to blue noob lolol pras.

i find it surprising that people even pay any attention to /ooc at all.
it takes more effort to read /ooc while playing than to ignore it.

There is already a zone-wide channel, called shout.
Is that not enough for you?

Global OOC makes game bearable when you sitting in 16 hour long grind sessions pulling undead skeleton #1241 for experience.

Global OOC is a wonderful thing.
It provides a forum for people to advertise wares across the whole server, this being especially important since players are unable to gather peacefully in a central zone.
Global chat also facilitates group formation on a server with a lower population. This plays a huge part in a young adventurer's life who may not have an established network of friends.
Another bonus is OOC provides the whole server with the names of belligerents; those people who need to gloat and shout about their various homicides. The yelling is so frequent you can keep a mental list of who to watch your step around.
I could go on. The only negatives to OOC are the ones you develop from personal insecurities.
Also, it's hilarious enough to make me laugh out loud sometimes.
Protip: Put OOC in it's own windows for Pete's sake.
