If you leave your camp to go vendor is your camp forfeited or is a temporary leave to vendor acceptable?

Pretty sure you forfeit the camp. Been in a lot of arguments over this many times at nybright sisters in lfay when id run to ranger outpost to sell. Shit, I lost my camp at temple in CoM the other night cuz I missed a CC while I was shitting after I cleared room and was medding -_-

if someone else wishes to contest the 'camp' you do need to return to the 'camp' and maintain a presence at or very near the spawn(s) in order to hold it. It should also be noted that if you camp out or leave the zone, you have forfeited a camp

Nice people waive this. I was at NG yesterday with an IB guy soloing there. A few times he needed to camp aggro... obviously I could have jumped in with a lawyer book and taken it, but just be a pal, be nice.
Good karma comes back eventually...a spot opened at king and everyone was smiling.
I like happy endings, don't you? <3 :p

You aren't required to answer a CC to hold a camp, btw. Answering a CC is just a courtesy. I know you were AFK and didn't intentionally disregard it, I'm just saying that the person can't use you not answering as a reason to steal your camp. :)

Wouldn't it be both servers? It is technically the same game just different mechanics for player targets, no?

Well, on Red, if someone has a camp you want, you simply try to take it from them.

What Swish said is very true, but if one is in "it's a cold hard world out there" mode, the basic -- and classic -- practice is, you leave a camp, you lost it.
Going to vendor: yeah, that's not your camp anymore lol
Went LD: I would give the camp back, personally. But I am much too nice a person.
Had to camp because of aggro: ditto
Wiped: it's a very cold hard world out there. You lose camp.
NOTE: if any SHENANIGANS are involved (eg, the douche *trained* your camp which is why you wiped) ALL BETS ARE OFF AND IT IS WAR.
Or, at least /petition time.
But training someone's camp in order to steal it is the lowest of the low. It is almost as low as leapfrogging.

Yeah there are no "camps" or "camp checks" on red. You go to your target mob/mobs and if there is already someone there you decide whether or not you want to try to duke it out over the mobs. Just depends on how badly you want the mobs, and how confident you are that you can easily kill the player. It is glorious.

I have been at camps where I or someone else needed to do that, or something else, and others were in line it worked out. But as usual some people abuse it, and others won't go along with it if you are gone 20 seconds. FTE does apply here as I hope you are aware of. :p

I wish I had more play time tbh. I get ya on the 'want factor' but I'm not into that really. I'm more a community helper; log in to buff ppl & camp, port a bunch of ppl & camp, etc... I mostly play the game to enjoy the community of people trying to do all those tough tasks & if I can log in for an hour 1 day a week & help any stranger - than what I hoped for was accomplished.

I remember on red me and two pals wanted sister camp but someone was already there. Well he didn't want to share so we killed him and then the mobs. Cue a level 1 high elf wizard mysteriously training us with dark elf elites a couple of minutes later.
Coined him when we realised when we were being trained. Go Red!

Some people take the "you left so you gave it up" attitude a bit far sometimes. Scene: Unrest Fireplace room gets trained by tower, Necro feigns death, Cleric and Bard bodies are lying on the floor. Two guys not in the group come in and begin pulling on top of the Necro and the the bodies. Naked Cleric and Bard show up to get dressed and the new arrivals gave us the "you left so you gave it up" business. Does being dead REALLY count as leaving a camp? /sigh

It's weird, but it's actually easier to be a community helper on red imo.

Ugh. That's so bad. Can't regret the move to red at all. At least if a twink is trying to pk you you can do something about it. There is no solution for something like this.

How does it work when a level 50 necro is at Ancient Cyclops and you're a level 60 wizard? A 4 level range sounds like it would create lots of problems in lots of camps.

There is more than one ancient Cyclops spawn. Also, this may be a big shocker to you, but people don't spend days permacamping this stuff on red. More often than not both camps are open. But in such a case, you would wait just like anywhere else.

Log on your level 54 and blast them out.

I am quoting the rule book here.. so many people give thier opinions when its plainly stated that you can leave the area and return in the rules.
In general, if the placeholder or placeholders for a spawn are being killed, that 'camp' can be considered held by the player doing the killing so long as they are keeping the placeholders cleared. You do not necessarily need to be at the spawn point to call it 'claimed' while it is uncontested, however, if someone else wishes to contest the 'camp' you do need to return to the 'camp' and maintain a presence at or very near the spawn(s) in order to hold it.

like this one? Yes you had the rights to the camp if anyone convinced you that you didnt, they simply lied to you when they said you didnt aka out lawyered you, when you had the law on your side :(
you can vendor so long as you return before the PH's die. you can go buff noobs so long as you return before PH's die. You can explore etc..
The only thing that prevents you from maintinaging the camp is zoning out.. camping or *zoning, to go vendor:
It should also be noted that if you camp out or leave the zone, you have forfeited a camp.
So sisters in OOT you can definitly go to the vendor and maintain the camp.
If you are at Tranix, you may not have both Tranix and Lord Scarlon, if someone else wants it. Or the Diomondine earring merb & the HBC, you have to pick one if it becomes contested:
You cannot hold multiple 'camps' if another group wishes to contest one that you are holding. The player holding multiple 'camps' retains the right to choose which 'camp' to give up.

If you're off vendoring then you're not going to be able to comply with that rule. Don't be so anal retentive that you force a GM to define a specific range for that rule.

what?! if you're off vendoring in a zone that you are camping a mob and you can keep the camp. if you're off vendoring and the mob spawns and sits idle youll not have much grounds to stand on when you call the GM.
Dont force GM's to come define a specific range for a rule by contesting a camp a guy said he was camping if the ph just spawned or hasnt spawned.

I tend to think this is only extremely rare because the broke group EXP on red and the extremely small population + 3 years of Kunark :/.
I would figure tons of LGuk, Efreeti, Droga, AC, even some KC/Seb camps I would guess are taken by mid 50s when you are 60. Or do you have some custom PvP level ranges in those zones?
