Got lots of stuff still needing tested. Got a few Kael Quests I'll mess around with tonight if I can finish up 9th Ring.

Tons of raid content still needs testing. East and West ToV Armors are at like 5% complete. Could use all the quest Gems sold on vendors near the end of beta to just test all those turn ins.

I'll be the first to say I didn't do much on the beta server during the forced beta than duel people in North Ro and goof off in many ways.

However I did give ToFS a good look a couple of months back and had a good old time in Kael. If there's another forced beta I'll definitely jump on a raid or three... if not I'll probably try and get my necro to 60 or my red cleric to 60 :p

OOC was great until Red came down. Then it was terrible for a few hours and got turned off :/.

Anyone else noticed that ever since the forced beta that peak numbers for the blue server have been off ~20% or more and that other servers have people in them.

Could be just be me, but I feel that forced beta is going or has had a negative impact on people actually playing on p99 (least the blue server).

Yep, a few of my friends have left blue for the time being as they're trying out EZ server and Hidden Forest, they've met up with a few people that have also done the same. Once Velious drops people will be rolling back in.

I think it's more you play EQ because it's a habit. It's much easier to just not feel like playing once you break that 90 day log in combo.

I was out of town for the forced beta weekend, didn't even know what was going down.

I came back to forum posts saying that you need to change your gamma to be able to play.

I came back to forum posts saying that monks got nerfed hard.

I came back to forum posts saying that root was breaking immediately and that spells weren't landing.

Hardly can't ask some noob to go to Velious zones even as a buffed 60 that has never played the game. I think the Forced Beta cost us some new people.

I am not really too sure Velious will add that many people after a few months. You have to figure that there is probably on average only say 1,200 people playing between Blue and Red now. And some are Boxing on both servers legally. And some on here are just tunnel rats, not really even playing, just buying low selling high.

That is all this server draws in the WHOLE damn world. That is really not a lot of people. The whole world! I know I play pretty much at least every other day on here maybe more, but we are a FEW hardcore people, very few. If some large company owned this and was hoping to make money on it the plug would have been pulled a long time ago. :(

I am not saying P1999 is a fail, but it is not a roaring success either. I really doubt this server will probably maintain 2,000 people 4 months in after Velious comes out. I am amazed there really is as few of people play here than there is for as good of game entertainment wise it is. :confused:

There are a minimum of several hundred people who I would expect to see spike the server pop when velious is released. A thousand isn't unlikely.

People play here because they enjoy it. While the server being "healthy" most likely causes more people to play here, "healthy" isn't defined by the population numbers.

I happen to think that if/when Velious comes out it will increase population, but even if it didn't (and even if somehow population dropped) I would still say that Velious being released is what the server needs desperately to be healthy right now.

Very few classes can ever solo in Velious, and then only with killer gear and all the good spells to make it happen. And all the nice zones will be perma camped by top 3 guilds for months. And if you are a class that can not bind, a lot of the Velious zones take forever to run through, let alone several zones to get your corpse. Ain't going to be all fun and games like people dream about. I still play in Velious zones on live and the Sleeper server so I am very aware what they are like, and I played it when it came out originally.

But yes, I will agree it is what P1999 needs or there will become less and less people if they don't get it out. Not many people really like to PvP either as shown for years on Red population until lately, only because there are bored shitless on Blue.

For many, I think Velious will be all there is. They've been forced to play Kunark for way too long. But Kunark and older zones will probably suffer pop scarcity.

I dont understand how this expansion will cut off some players... first off, if you are somehow brand new to eq (are there really brand new people who never played eq before and actually installed p1999?) And cant handle a weekend long forced beta... you cant handle eq, doubt they will handle a first difficult corpse run. If you have been playing eq and cant handle a weekend beta... you probably whine alot and i probably dont want to group with you.

All ive been reading is velious is a harsh zones for noobs without good gear and the top guilds are going to have the end game in velious very quickly... ok... well with the guilds, that happens in every mmo. And doesnt that mean if the top guilds are focusing on velious then the other guys get to work on kunark? Helps the dreadful line quene on blue right? maybe they can hold them all then that would suck but with more pixal loot on the table, i feel it will ease the queue.

Now with noobs in velious and it being challenging... dont go? If they are truely new players playing eq for the first time GUESS WHAT!? They have a whole world of norrath that they have never explored! And a whole other expansion too!?!? Better skip all of that and head straight for the unforgiving plains of velious!

I for one am looking forward to the day when i can kill giants and dragons without a raid. And being a barb and spending too many days in the halas region... im looking forward to the brand new bigger snowy tundra that has cooler giants and dragons to hunt and slay. And with how much time i am allowed to play, its going to be months before any of that happens for me and im looking forward to the wait. This is eq, patience is key right?

Playing on live in the summer before i joined p99, i got to level 60 with only being in 2 groups. Both times it was 1 person 2 boxing. Every single old world zone in eq is dead everyday almost every hour. When i joined p99 i was greeted with a breath of fresh air because this server is bringing us what we wanted for those of us that enjoy old school eq. Ive been in many great groups since live and live could not replicate what we did in those days of killing endless mobs with a full group and different classes and races. It was great and im looking forward to those types of groups everyday and it looks like that wont be in short supply for awhile. Its not like this is SoL expac or PoP that dramatically changed the mechanics of the game. We are being giving the LAST expac ever for this server. If it is as harsh as some of you are making then im agreeing with heartbrand, ill be busy killing dragons and dragons to not notice you complainers are gone.

This is true webrunner... but i did say ill enjoy the wait with my patience. But on red I will not have to wait that long. The top guilds there dont have crazy requirements to join and there is no crazy waiting line. Even the Fresh guild on red which is there to help noobs is doing raids in the planes, maybe even kunark that i do not know but i cant get into Fresh on red because the leaders are too busy raiding. So yes, i will be killing giants and dragons in the future. Maybe ill be on a hill killing them, who knows.

I tried testing what I could solo but lost interest after the 2nd day. After that I gave PEQ server a try and found I enjoy playing a class there that's not available on P99 so I've been enjoying myself there.

I'm sure I'll come back to P99 eventually, but for now I'm having a blast playing a Beastlord.
