Alunova: Dartain the Lost is more magic resistant and will sometimes drop 2 times.
^recent patch notes, searched forums and found a daldaen post where it was discussed about him dropping 2 items possibly, but nowhere with any evidence he would have a chance to not drop at least 1 item (seems crazy for even a slight chance to not drop something @ 36hr respawn)
Slain this devil recently on red, and no drops =(

Yea I'm not sure where the no drops came in.
The classic posts suggest 2 every time and extremely MR. I felt 2 every time would be warranted with that MR bump personally (also cause classic). But I dunno why they chose to do 0 drop...

He's also an extremely tough fight now- completely crazy for there to be a chance at no drops on a 36hr timer

any slows land on him at all after Malo?

i did eventually get him slowed but defenitely would not be solo'able on shaman without some very excessive clicky usage
*note* i dont have a tash stick on the sham on red so results may be different if tash + malo'd but i could not land a malosini after malo, period.
-also attempted on first try with druid + sham, wiped. swapped druid for cleric and was able to take him down

also note: root seemed to land at will (mostly)
rooted at least 6-8 times while trying to get slowed, not sure how that was possible?

bumping - back to back with 0 drops on red, can someone verify his loot table is not bugged on red please?

Looks fine to me. Most of the time, you should receive 2 loots. It is possible to receive none, though.

Think the point he is making is that 0 drop rate was a dev design decision but not classic.
If that's confirmed its the end of it. Otherwise, classic it was 2 drops every time and the 0 drop case should be removed.

I don't think anyone knows for sure how Dartain's loots worked. Am I missing some research for this or what.

Well my last bug post found comments (albeit few) that stated he was dropping 2 items in each case. Didn't see anything suggesting 1 or 0 drops. Only comments with 2 drops were found.

Problem with him is due to his location in the Hole and behind a locked door there is very limited info on him.

can confirm hes at least not broken on red
last 3 spawns have been 0, 0, and 1 drop
There is very little info on him, that is correct- but what little info we do have supports the fact that he dropped two items, there is no evidence to suggest he should ever drop nothing- that i can find (see daldaen's post)
A very tough (now) level 55+ 'boss' mob buried behind a locked door in the basement of an 'expansion' zone, on a 36 hour respawn, has a slight chance to drop nothing? that surely cannot be an accurate assumption either

he also has 3 items on his loot table
surely one of them should be 'super common' , I think the shield should be seen pretty frequently instead of nothing

Need some proof on these 0 loot on raid or "group required" epic mobs

bump the 0 loot drop makes no sense nor had any evidence to suggest he ever had an empty corpse
as Mylez said its a 36 hr named spawn with special attributes ( very high RM) behind a locked door in one of the hardest to reach areas of an expansion dungeon
theres no way I would ever believe he would drop nothing for all the lucky adventurers who chance the opportunity to not only take him on but slay him
I cant think of any mobs in the game that are similar in difficulty in both arriving and succeeding in the encounter yet have a chance to yield no rewards

None of the assumptions used to change dartain were very accurate, iirc it was like 2 posts by unknown ppl saying he was pretty mr or something.

I don't have a problem with his difficulty- now or then, thats whatever
But the change made to slightly have a chance to drop nothing is completely unwarranted. If there was even a slight chance, there would be at least ONE post pointing to that... there isnt, in fact its the contrary- every post i've found indicates he actually dropped two items
The chance to drop nothing was included for whatever reason because they changed him to potentially drop 2 items "sometimes"
Please fix!
