Saturday , after losing 175 navy apocs pandemic legion decided to drop supercaps on a famous alliance in eve called BRAVE NEWBIES, a corp that is basically comprised of brand new players.

They had a hilarious tactic of sensor dampening the carriers that were on the field to the point where they could not even lock the titan.

One after the other they bumped the ships further and further away, when the titan was far enough they began to dps it, It took 3 hours. But they killed it. I was there.

The sad thing is this is even MORE true now because they removed the "24 hour cap" on how many skills you can queue.

You are now able to have up to 50 skills or 10 years worth of training in the queue at once.

I thought about resubscribing but then realized I would only log in once maybe twice a year to updated my skill queue and it would give me even less motivation to play since I wouldn't be required so frequently to login to update my skill queue.

so you're collecting skills for nothing?

No, but with this new skill queue change it gives you MORE reason to just subscribe for a year or so without playing to get the best possible skills to fly a capital ship or whatever your fantasy ship is.

Anyone remember that game LevelQuest? Where you just hit go and it automatically did shit forever...that was all it was?

Sounds like EVE is just a GUI for LevelQuest.

why dont you leave high sec and actually go do something fun? the amount of content in the game is amazing, and you can be challenged on every level.

if you just sit in high sec and do missions i agree, no point even logging in.

Eve was alright. I really liked their definition of pvp, how ever all you ever really do is low sec missions, die to multi year vets, or farm ice mines. Most of my experience with eve was logging in to check skills then playing something else.

then you did it wrong, move to null and join an alliance or group of alliances

the coalition i am with has over 20k players and we own over 120 systems.

also luls everytime eve is mentioned people talk about spreadsheets, those are only required to profit via manufacturing in high sec, which only nerds do.

I did leave high sec.

I was in a low-sec for awhile, that was pretty boring and also gate guns ruin a lot of possibilities.

I tried some Faction Warfare which is actually A LOT of fun but the amount of pricks there is overwhelming.

I tried NPC Nullsec which wasn't bad but was very repetitive since you knew your neighbors and the same exact fights took place every day with nothing changing.

Finally, I lived in Sov Nullsec and joined the alliance Goonswarm Federation.

As for wormhole space from what I've seen it is just like low-sec without a local chat or gate guns.

Anything else you want me to try? Perhaps mining? Or PvP Market?

The only reason you don't get the spreadsheet joke is because you sit in a coalition where you go to a forum and read the,
"THIS IS THE SHIP WE ARE TELLING YOU TO USE AND THIS IS WHAT EQUIPMENT WE ARE TELLING YOU TO WEAR" forum thread.

You don't actually crunch the numbers and create the doctrine in which the entire coalition uses in its fleet fights or skirmishes.

Sorry, I love Eve Online but the flaws are too large to not tell people right off the bat before you try selling the good points when you're trying to convince people to play the game.

join a nullsec alliance that isnt goonswarm, you are just making all the wrong choices.

goonswarm will not let you in on the real pvp unless you have a supercap, its like all null sec alliances, an inner circle and blobs of shitbags they throw at enemy fleets.

dont go to low sec

and finally, clearly you didnt actually try wormholes because they scale in difficulty from 1-6 and with the bonuses of the system you can scale your fleet / friends / corp and difficulty level and the better you play the more you make. The npcs have some of the best AI Ive seen in a game and can be challenging on ALL LEVELS. They will exploit your weaknesses and avoid your strengths.

You can also add a cap for support and farming purposes ( A carrier can really help for class 5's , the remote rep is unreal )

There are also lots of wormhole corps that specifically focus on pvp and will invade your area with a fast moving fleet of ships and literally jump you while you are doing a site, some of these corps have the dps to take down caps.

ill be moving into a wormhole soon with 4 friends we have a small fleet setup of 6 apoc's 2 guardians , a damnation and a archon.

3 revelations for cleaning the hole when we find the system we want.

I played all weekend with my 2 buddies, we jumped to high sec and setup in our favorite spot near a trade hub and suicide ganked haulers. shit was great, we will be moving on to freighters by january. Looking forward to that.

They added 100+ new shattered wormholes last week.

If you are new to eve, it is a game of unlimited strategy, a 5 year old player flying a large ship is extremely vulnerable to small ships and well executed pvp can kill ANY PLAYER, the way you fit your ship can change how you play and attack drastically.

There are tons of modules that you fit your ships with that change it completely.

If you want to try it here is a link to a 21 day trial, if you like the game i will upgrade your account for you. ( you can buy subscription time with in game money )

https://secure.eveonline.com/trial/?invc=6f0e758a-2a6e-4c88-b3d5-dcf741bd803b&action=buddy

just dont be like jibekn and start a high sec corp and rot there for years and do nothing.

you need to experience the game properly to see what it really is.

I saw plenty of PvP - being in a capital ship is a quick way to ensure you do NOT see PvP.

I will agree though, yes, Null Sec Alliances are all about the select few Fleet Commanders who lead an army (including you) of about a thousand into battle and you're essentially on the frontlines.
