With all the changes to pvp from the patch, I thought it would be a good time to introduce a new season.
Not that I give a shit about the Leader-Board or Rankings, but I it would help to determine where class balance is in pvp after the changes.

There is no real leaderboard, just some board that doesn't differentiate between fungi geared dudes killing in CB, and cloth wearing people killing dudes in VP gear.
Should delete that crap if can't do better, its a joke.

I ignore most of the leader-board shennigans, and dont pay any mind to low lvl griefers. It would just help determine lvl 60 class balance abit and give us a little better idea of what's off.

GMs need to make a leader board with different categories for level ranges. Til then it is crap. No way a player can make a meaningful one.

How is a leaderboard good for class balance discussion when you get no credit for playing a support or CC class.

not everyone can play a wizard or whatever - that's the nature of the game

Who cares. Bad data = useless and misinformed statistics.
Delete it and replace with dragons slain tally.

Should be deleted with a warning "since staff isn't providing stats of any value, and logging isn't capable of doing so, there is no more leaderboard".
Because users simply can't, and staff can't / won't / is lazy / is corrupt.
Have your pick.

I'm not talking about gauging a players skill level. But if we saw some necro's raise on leaderboards, or melee's drop off, or wizards and druids drop off we'd have a better look at balance then currently.
I don't pay much over-all attention to the boards, but on live there was always a few player's who made hard to play classes work. If we saw that here we'd know it's at least possible with the high skill cap classes.
Most player's who dominated boards on live were player's exploiting a broken pvp mechanic or using a 3rd party program, or both as was the case with Kirban on sullon. I expect the same thing here.

The data is going to be skewed beyond usability. If necros rise up it will be just as much if not more due to people actually playing them post changes. Plus it just tracks killshots anyway not who is doing better in PVP, and necros are still dealing with the DoT not counting for YT shit.

I am used to gating in-zone and having random-leet PK just beeline to me.
Happened just last weekend, guy named Falkor nukes me, I gate, he finds my bind & finishes it while I'm chatting.
Dat wiz track.

Kronar was ranked very high on Sullon facing the same challenges as player's here. I'm not looking for definitive empirical data used to accurately gauge class balance. But even one necro getting a fairly descent rank would show things have changed.
Of course not every class was ranked high on live, but i can say on live there was at least 1-2 individuals that made a class that was thought of to be BAD or HARD in pvp, work.

The changes will hopefully make necros at least as playable as they were on live, where they were considered to be a very good PVP class.
Deck is just stacked against them here the way it is now. Broken AC, huge melee hitbox, fucked up DoTs, pets are shit (can't reduce delay w/ weapons, can't get weapons back killing pet) and don't zone with you (yes I realize this is classic). Resists hosed so even a druid can outdamage your taps, etc.
Patch addresses a good number of those at least.

There were enough bad players on live that any class should have been viable. Things are different on an emulator 15 years later.

Well, there was lifeburn too for the SZ leaderboard. But a lot of the top pvpers on RZ like Nilear, Nalear, Zelnik, Lugoj, Zyrino etc were necros.
