(Temp) solo xp boost

Hi,

I see a lot of people log on during the Euro prime time, go lfg for 1 hour, then log off as they have nothing to do.

Same goes for lowbies, they go lfg but can't find anyone in their level range able to get to them, then they log of discouraged.

A solo xp bonus would be a solution here, as people would at least be able to make some respectable xp while lfg.

Xp bonus difference between groups and solo is huge atm, should be NP to bump up solo xp by a bit while still keep it far inferior to group xp.

Project 1999 Red now has a 50% experience bonus from 1-60. In addition to this, for each group member, a 40% experience modifier will be added to all XP the group obtains. This means that with a full 6 member group, you will be provided a 290% bonus to all experience gained, 1-60.

Solo is 50%

Duo is 50%+40%+40%, each extra group member adding another 40%.

Kind of a huge difference. Room to close gap. Non-classic is non-classic.

I did most of my enchanters noob levels without any bonus with no gear, transfers or other.

Make friends or tough it out. Solo xp still amazing

Hard to make many friends if you play when 50 people are online. People have a high chance of giving up that way.

Farm up some starter shit for people, help them with ports and binds. Figure out common play times together, circle back to help people that fall a bit behind.

Personally, I think the starting zone area of the forum can be used to corral new players to red to figure out these things. No one looks there but they could start to. The community is what you make it.

Yea the first thing helps but its still pretty limited. A moderately twinked lowbie wiz is going to be making some terribad xp solo. Not even mentioning a rogue in banded with some 300pp weapons lol.

Public forum would not help, leduke 2.0 would be all over that.

ps. I mean when its 13:00 here, the server has 50 people on. /who all count 30 40 will often give a result of 2-3, its hard (impossible) to consistently get a group going under those conditions.

Could raise solo xp to 60% instead of 50%.

Would still be under half of duo xp, and then any duo will generally kill faster then a solo person would.

Also would be good event to announce on blue forums.

I think you have a real point when a lvl 30 melee in less than twink gear can't gear xp.

But..

I had this problem on blue rather often too. Sometimes its just hard to get groups. Gotta roll up your sleeves and figure something out. Hell, I took a bard and a bunch of melees in RAGS with me to quad the "impossible" raptors while duelist rogue groups hunted every zone while we were coming up. Unorthodox but extremely effective, if there's a will, there's a way.

Methinks there's a market for power leveling too which is very classic... there's definitely one for blue plat traded for red plat.

Again, its up to the community to help improve the box more. Going to the staff for changes should be the absolute last resort. A peek inside the petition queue and at the "to do" list for Velious and remaining mechanical/content fixes would solidify this for you I think.

Changing global xp shouldn't be that hard.

Velious is great, having 300+ on daily would be even better for Velious.

You should try rolling a char and playing the schedule of a euro guy with a job ;)

Get kids addicted to fast exp pop raises times get hard 95% of those people quit and now the guys with 12 level 50 alts now have 24 level 50 alts.

Lower exp and bring back exp deaths on pvp imo.

Ive proposed this like 5 times, it makes sense, it would totally help people stick around until someone else logs on, but dont hold your breath for changes for the better. You have to kick and scream here for months to get things done.

The idea of removing xp loss in pvp was poopooed by Sirken and Rogean for months, if not a year+ "This isnt CoD, lol". They only changed it when server was dying at 50-75 accounts logged peak. With server doing good i wouldnt expect them to do something like this, but who knows really.

Also alot of the community are idiots and only care about themselves, so will try to push for as slow a progression as possible for new people, in a self-serving way, even if its detrimental to server growth, like it always was.

You serious? All you need to do is find one other person and you have a group. Even 2 warriors can take turns tanking and use bandaids to heal up. Or any spell caster can lock down aggro and kite mob useing strafe while you beat down on it from behind.

Diseased pelts in qhills
Willowisps in NK for GLS turn in.
Bandits in NK/WK for bronze weps and sash turn in.
Bandits in lfay for bronze. Move to nybright sisters after.
Gargoyles in oot
Teach mas gnolls for gnoll skin turn ins in qeynos.

Yea man, I can solo whatever the fuck I want, noone on. True story. Can camp frenzy for 5 hours, noone ever comes in Lguk etc.

All this shit is great in theory, in practice the players just aren't there.

When it takes an hour to find a port, 20 mins to get a bind and then a 20 min run to get to the camp, people log off.

Server is a ghost town during weekends on the off-hours. Just want an incentive for those people to stick around a bit longer, level a bit faster, then get involved.

But yea its kinda impossible to find a group at that time.

Its pretty simple, when 50 people are online, lowbies probably aren't finding a group, perhaps a port, and finding a res is way out there. Can spin this 10 different ways, fact remains fact :)

There has got to be one other person solo'ing within your xp range that you could help some how... and they'd get more xp for you just being there


I had a pal of mine that said "I can never find seb groups on my rogue I'm quitting"

Enter the rogue I leveled up... went to NG camp, saw a 60 shaman solo'ing..

Me: "Hey man can I just help dps for xp, don't want any gems/items/plat"

Shaman: "yeah thanks that's great"

My rogue got 3 lvls doing this

I also learned I could sneak extremely quick backstabs/auto attack rounds when pet bashes landed

You do not have my sympathy. I used to play that time exclusively with all of the xp bonus turned off and still found groups. If you can't cobble a group together or solo until you find more then maybe you should go to blue.

welcome to playing the box on euro time, and the only reason i 2 boxed back in the day (when pop was 100 on us time it was around 20 on euro time) there's literally no feasable way to get xp unless you were 2 boxing or playing a solo capable class

things are better now for sure, especially in the mid ranges. everquest? naw on euro time this game is called "everquest for a healer".
