Alright so I want to switch to Red. I love the PvP aspect of a game. Stopped playing on live and started playing WoW and joined a pvp server. I have found it make the game more interesting if you are trying to kill something that someone else is controlling.

So my question is, what class do I play? I loved ranger back in the start of eq and played that kinda class through my MMO career. Was a NE hunter in WoW, though I was really good. Now Red, that is a different story.

What does one roll to start up on Red? I have ranger, druid, some necro exp on eq but open to suggestions.

Go druid. Seems to be the easiest to start with.

Play whatever you will enjoy, plenty of non tools on server that will assist you with gear and advice.

Roll a druid or cleric. Send Roky a tell and I will see what I can get to you, it won't be much, new myself, but it will help.

yeh druid always good first toon.. especially on low pop server. decent pvp, ports, sow, not very gear dependent etc..

also, you will need a strong grip, strong forearms, strong biceps etc... if you want loot you will need to be able to hang from nuts for long periods of time.

It depends on your playstyle/playtime is. If you go hard core just start with character you think will be the most fun (if you really want to play ranger go ranger) but if you don't have high playtime or are more casual then maybe druid or necro. Druid is def the easiest starting class though because of the ports + wide variety of spells you get. The convenience of porting yourself is really a big thing on this server.

Don't make my mistake, and make your first characters heavily melee based characters. Go with the Necro or Druid.

I have no idea why everyone always says Necro in these threads.

Why are you telling people to roll the most broken class in pvp? Because they're easy to level without gear? Well lots of classes are, and it's never been easier to level here. There's brand new, naked warriors getting to 50 within a week. Why would you tell someone to roll a necro then?

For your first character, play whatever you think you'll enjoy least, because you're probably going to be bad and mad and you don't want to taint the memory of a class you actually like.

That and if you really want to farm shit for your next char, roll an chanter.

I thought about rolling a cleric, but I wanted something to farm gear and plat with, so I went with shaman.
