View Full Version : 55+ Druid leveling spots?
I must have 10+ threads now on asking for help on where to hunt but thankfully this one will be my last. I finally made it to bear caves in Perma but around the time I play is when it is already camped by some other druids.
I really enjoy quadding to get my exp's but have become very comfortable with charming after spending some time in said bear caves.
Anyone have any good quadding/charming locations to recommend that are generally not camped out? If you don't want to give the answer away to too many people on here, a private message would be dope. I have decent +WIS (over 200) but whatever I can't finish off I hit them with lumi staff/ES Vambs.
I miss the days of Overthere where I can quad to my hearts content, minus a couple bard disputes :) Thanks in advance for your input!

You can quad in DL outside KC until 60.
54: pull dark blue drolvarg ragers (lvl 40-1), petrifier cockatrices (lvl 40-1), mountain giant steeps (lvl 40) and brutes (lvl 40)
55: pull dark blue ragers and petrifiers (lvl 41)
56-60: You now either have to start quadding Ravishings which have double the hitpoints (but go up to lvl 44 or dark blue to 58 or 59) or grabbing four greens (light blues). Pulling 4 "light blues" would be the same experience as 2 dark blues. It might be worthwhile to get in two green quads done in about the same time as quadding one set of Ravashings. Especially if you can't find four dark blue ones which most times you won't.
OR, since you're a Druid, if you want to be as efficient as possible, there's another route. Powerlevel people's twinks for 2k an hour. Take that 2k and pay for a Chardok proxy pull. You will get several hours experience for the one hour you spent. Repeat until 60.
Thank you Mr. President. :)
I actually have been doing the Ravishing Drolvargs since level 52 or 53 - I don't mind med camping between each pull.. It's just slowing down quite a bit - but probably because I'm in a double hell level.
Yesterday was a really good day. Duo'd the bear caves at first with a druid, and then later that night, we had a trio of dru/dru/sham that was pretty much easy mode - 3 charmed pets beating on every mob in there - great exp. I'm going to try and ride that as much as possible because there always seems to be at least 1 other druid in there and it is much safer.

If you solo'd Kedge first, you'll find bear pits to be rather trivial. If not, you will have some difficulties. Unfortunately for those people, your difficulties will lead to some of the most annoying CRs if you didn't rebind and some corpses you cannot get rezzed if you don't pay a lot of plat or know a Vox cleric camped there.
Yeah I tried Kedge twice and got my ass handed to me. I solo'd bear caves a good amount where I can take down the upper rooms by myself, barring any continous charm breaks. Nothing beats the duo though exp wise. I died once in Perma and paid a 60 necro to run to Perma, summon my corpse, then rez me. I gave him 400p - hope it wasn't too little.

When I did it as I was leveling I would clear the upper spawns and the lower/injured spawns and have a little bit of med time before Respawns happened.
However it looks like they changed everything to a double spawn in their due to EQMac evidence on the topic. I feel like that would've been more fun to do though I can imagine one of those rooms is annoying to break now without AE root.

It's not annoying at all 90% of the time (when you're not getting repeated insta charm breaks). It's really quite easy once you know when/what to charm and where to root mobs. If you already have a high hp pet and just use it to pull it's even easier to manage a ton of mobs at once.
Beev is already a pro.

You can try to quad seafuries if you manage to play on the mornings. Raptors in TD are an option too. Quadding in CoM Arena is a viable option too, and there's a lot of room in there to do so.

For Bear pits if you bind yourself upstairs at the dead end past the movable rock to Vox's room you can easily drag your corpse to zone if you die.
Just drag your corpse under the drop down.
Gate back up.
Drag corpse uptop.
Port out to SoW then gate back.
Run to ZL (using root if needed, also don't forget to call a train).

I never bound in the Bearpits because of firepots.
But I thought that going into the fake floor near where you suggest binding would get you LoS aggro from a icy terror there?

Even when you turn the corner from the bind point towards the Icy Terror he wont aggro you until you go past the rock. You also will not have casting Line of Sight until you go past the rock.
Also I was just in there a while ago dragging a corpse out from the pits. None of the giant currently have see invis up till the bind point. You will have to root the Icy Terror however.

When I did bear pits a long time ago, I would bind at the drop in point above the upper area. Little nook in the wall, nothing aggro'd there. Makes it easy to refresh C2 from someone (port out, gate back in).
I did have a firepot bind once, but I rebound elsewhere (Yay drunk gaming...), otherwise I would of never bound myself there and would of just did the train out trick to continue to get down there.

Kedge all the way.
Druid paradise. Charming is the name of the game.
You just have to learn the pathing and aggro range of the mobs.
There are some tricks to learn with Kedge but the exp (and some of the loot) is sweet
There are some items that will save your butt in there:
Leatherfoot Raider Skullcap (get one on an alt and set up your own recharge guy)
an Enduring Breath item (rebreather, staff of the waterwalker, fishbone earring, etc.)
and
Goblin Gazughi Ring. Very handy for getting around and breaking charm when you need to
Kedge was very good to me
