Defense should have a chance to skill up while you are invulnerable. It was a common means of skilling up your defense on a PLed toon to use DAs.

Go to Karnor's, wait for a train, a big train, follow it to the zone, and get in the middle of it. After everyone else has zoned, hit divine barrier and let em all go to town on you. Back up against a wall and hit divine aura, let em try their worst for another eighteen seconds, then zone. With 6 or more blue mobs throwing three or four punches a round at you, you will get, in thirty-six seconds, hundreds of defense checks.

Wait ten minutes for the divines to return, and repeat. Try not to get killed; if you zone just before divine aura wears off, they can't possibly kill you, now that the stun problem has been removed from the divines.

Currently on P99 you can DA and tank 80 mobs and not even get a single skillup

Was true, I remember.

Mobs had to be blue con or higher though.

I verified this on my 51 druid (that had under 100 defense at the time) by healing the puller on a chardok pull and then popping my DA Idol and sitting down, I had hundreds (if not thousands) of melee swings at me all by dark blue or higher conning mobs and got 0 defense skill increases despite being way under my skill cap for my level.

It's also worth noting that I did most of levels 52-60 on my cleric in Chardok and never saw a single skillup while DA/DB, despite taking thousands of melee swings every single pull.

Well it sounds like you've identified an exploit that alrdy has a fix in place hehe

Eh? Its classic to get defense skillups while DA.

It isn't working here on P99.

Therefore its a bug. Not one that is gamebreaking that warrants being removed.

You would think, eventually it would feel like there are less bugs. But it never does.
