Lets get real, Derubel posting and saying don't bitch about posts and try it, well that's not going to work. It does not help the cause. Most blues say pure propaganda and walk away.

Try posting the advertisement, and ignore the negative.
Do not fall into the "well blue sucks, and on red you can kill xyz if they take your camp." Does not help the cause.

Usually once a negative comment is thrown, the bad stuff happens, ignore it.
Present your case for what rocks about red, show the benefit, offer help, PM me brochaco etc and that's it.

Blue is blue for a reason, grief is not fun, and when chat goes bad, that is the perception you will glue to the server.

Give them a reason to hang and check it out.
When the thread turns into a shit storm, you turn off people to the idea, as they think, yah this is what I will deal with.

I would argue that, having a toon on red, its ok.
If you are going to argue for moves, make it positive.
Generally that is not the case, I believe there is a certain element on red that wants no part in increasing the population. Thus the trolls.

The second you post negative comments towards blue and its community and passive aggressive comments/back handed insults it turns people away and it just turns in to a red v blue post. If you actually want to recruit people and aren't just here to troll, focus on the positive of red rather than the negative of blue and people will me much more receptive. Trust me.

This x 10. I don't know why, but for some reason each red recruitment thread either starts off with, or soon becomes a blue bash thread just because blues don't prefer red. All you red recruitment bros need to lay off the insults and passive aggressive comments and maybe you'll get half the server pop you wish for.

I also noticed Swish is a huge fan of passive aggressive bashes of bluebies, while trying to sound like he is nice and understanding. Maybe pick a new consul to do red propaganda?

This is actually correct, and some of you may have noticed your posts getting deleted in red threads that i make where you start getting caustic with bluebies. We should be putting our best foot forward in red recruit posts over on the general server chat, which means showing the blue server we are above being trolled and insulted - by ignoring these trolls we take away the only affect they can have on our progression. I already remove and/or GM forum-quest obliterate any post that's really worth responding to anyway.

Since when did the Red server give any fucks about what some blue welfare pixel pusher had to say about red or it's players anyway? Show everyone we're better by not showing them anything at all - the next time a troll posts against red, glance right over it and keep on moving. Pretty soon their ineffectual jabs will land them in a world of frustration where they cross that line and get forum hammered by me.

^pop is increasing steadily. I'm probably the only staff member who pays really close attention to this, and have done so ever since getting access to the front end csr tools. Now that I have the backend itself and can build my own queries instead of using pre-built ones, it takes even less time to get a good idea of how much its increasing.

It will happen Derubael; a lot of people play red99 for the raiding scene too and what some of the more vocal "pvpers" don't see is that its fine to do that.

There are actually some people who think red99 is a 100% PvP server....But you'll find they whine and moan about the lack of PvP but don't put actual efforts in to creating PvP opportunities apart from small skirmishes.
Infact...I think there are quite a few too many people who just want; want; want; want...but don't put effort in to cultivating the health of the server.

The greatest thing that could happen on this server is a another 100 steady players; then you'll see great PvP health and raid health especially leading in to velious. But you need to cultivate this to happen.

It's simple math really: give people a chance and they will reward you.





P.s the thing I never understand about the other team is they claim they want server health, and PvP health, but give nothing back to help promote this.... and as you can clearly see when that team was removed from their position of power by the server banding together to cast them off; the health of the server starts to grow.

I am not a major factor on this server but I do care about Red99. The Red99 team have given me something I thought long lost many years ago and to have another chance at Classic EQ PvP is beyond words to me. I'm getting older now and these new games with all the sparkle and glitter and cute little things that appeal to the kid generation do not appeal to me. Live EQ just isn't EQ anymore, it has been dumbed down beyond recognition now.

"This" is all I have now for an MMO that I really enjoy. I understand we have pricks here, we have people that think being cool is griefing newbies with no armor with there level 12 Epics and lowbie Fungi Tunic twinks. Nothing you can do about that, but without a doubt some of the coolest people I have ever met in my MMO gaming life have come from right here. Derek who I currently Duo with, Wendell who I hope to bring back here. In game people like Gongshow (/saute my friend), Busto, Gyno and a select other few ... I could not say anything bad about them if I tried.

Red99 is not that bad, hell ... I stream a lot when I play here www.twitch.tv/MaSQue_ "follow my stream bitches" , sure I get Snipers (got sniped last night) , I even lost my old dedicated group I ran with on Syreal because of shit happening in stream but overall it is just an awesome server and Blue players should really give it a try, find people to run with, make friends, find a a lowbie guild or make one themselves. A person can either give it an honest try and go in with a clear mind or sit around a bitch and complain about the bad shit here .... in the end the choice is there is and no one can make it for them.

I currently Duo with my friend, Cleric/Monk combo .... leveling is sloooooooow but one day down the road maybe we can get leveled up. I will try to stream our sessions as much as possible depending on Snipers, I highlight and upload all of my streams to Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyMgFcyGOj-6dCmvckrgdFg/videos (except the ones Twitch copyrights for music and mutes". I know for sure my stream has brought 10-12 new players to this server and I have a small group of dedicated viewers that tune into my stream daily. I understand the risks involved with streaming Red99 openly, but I chose to do it to try to help this server, so to say it bluntly, instead of standing around complaining and crying over stupid shit or complaining about how this or that person has done something to hurt the server, maybe get off our asses and go make a difference, go do something to make a difference. I personally would not mind trying to find a way to use my Stream even more than now to promote Red99 and would love to hear any ideas or suggestions on this. I really want to see Red99 do well.
