I realize my tell came from nowhere, and don't blame you a bit for being skeptical, but it was no troll. I just got the idea a couple days ago after reading the forums and stuff. I came across alot of posts of red members giving shouts on blue forums and it's clear to me that you all care alot about red99 and would like to see more people try it out, the idea being that the community grow and stuff. Long story short, I would like to help.
Short story long....
I've read a crap-ton of posts in the last few days, including the post where you said you'd really like for a group of 6 blues to roll red and share their experiences, etc. While I might actually give red a try one day, I wouldn't be able bring 5 others with me, but I really dig what I have read so far about the community on red and I'd like to help in a way that I am able. What I'd like to do is make a video for Red99.
What I'm looking to do is produce a music video the way hollywood producers do. You know...scene 4, take 3...rolling....and action. That kind of thing. The first one I made is http://youtu.be/lcrzLdyGAHI I'm lookin to do kinda the same here. Not the same like introducing 1 person at a time but same like many different scenes and not a single video capture set to music, also showing red pvp in its many forms; bind camping, ganking, swarming people for no reason, 1v1, 2v1 all that...and have the thing culminate in the largest scale pvp that red can put together at one time. I need the help of all red99 for that final pvp sequence and and I'd like it to be in a large enough open area that I can get all the participants from a levitated position.
I've already got the song picked out and I have a vision of how I'd like the video sequences to go (what kind of story I'm telling) but I'm only at the beginning (at the time of this posting). What I've done so far is picked out the song, put it in my editor suite and started to segment it where scenes would make sense. What I need to do before I can start shooting is to story board the scenes(how many, what kind, intensity, etc) but I don't see that taking more than a few more days(work schedule). Once I've got the story boards made, I can start shooting. The good news is that red and blue zones are identical in appearance, so I can shoot some of the non pvp sequences on blue and hide namplates if players are in shots.
What I'm looking for from you, (and remember I don't want anything from you guys, only to help the red community) is if you can help me make the larger pvp sequence more fun and badass to the viewers. Here's what I'm asking: would you (Holocost, et al) be willing to perform large scale pvp on cue? As in, a huge mass of people get to a location (Dreadlands? Skyfire?) that I can film from a levitated position and when I call "action" begin to beat the hell out of everybody next to them? I can film in the location you told me in /tells to get typical pvp sequences, but in this case I'm looking for a fucking huge pvp that should span many guilds and every red99 player who wants to show up. I'm asking you, cuz you might be able to help by having your guild show up and perhaps curry some enthusiasm for this thing (which won't take more than an hour, I wouldn't think) and, of course we would plan this to be on a day where you don't have pressing matters and I would give the server plenty of notice to attend. I would also need to be off-limits to pvp so I can shoot the thing.
I'm asking this in advance of making any moves on this thing, because the answer could be no. If yes, then I'll have to level a toon to around 50 so I could walk around in big boy zones, and that won't happen overnight. Ideally, I'd prefer to shoot the major scene first, then take a group around to get the minor pvp stuff done right after and once i've gotten all footage shot I could have a production draft the next day.
I made this post because I've never posted before and I couldn't PM you, and I did want to assure you this was no joke, contrariwise, I'm quite serious. Please consider this, it would be cool.
