lots of words like "EXTREME" and bright lights, looking at the actual hardware its pretty much shit, why not get one with a ssd? your zonetimes would improve drastically, unless you're running a ramdriive

I dont think its an issue with if you want to build it or not but more if you are capable. it takes about 10 minutes to actually assemble the pc and 5 more minutes to install the drivers.
If you chose to reinstall your OS while you do it then maybe an extra 10 minutes of just waiting for it to install...
unless you are so rich that 300-400$ price break isnt worth 15 minutes of your time

I think you are greatly underestimating the time required to assemble a pc. I have built over 100 PCs from scratch in my lifetime and rebuilt countless more. There is almost no way you can go from boxes to built to working PC with an OS install in under 25 minutes. Especially if you are dealing with new or different hardware each time which a normal builder would be in most cases.
Also your prices left out the OS cost. I know most people pirate their OS but if you actually buy it like you should then it is 99-199 in price which adds considerable cost. I am not an AMD fan, however this is due to the .Net development I have done in the past and what my company does now. AMD does not work well with developing .Net software.

i just upgraded a week ago, i just rebuilt it how can i underesstimate something i just did.
I spent an hour researching which parts to buy but you have to do that with a prebuilt pc as well, unless you are just that ignorant to let a random joe build a random pc at a random price you dont understand.
I was a bit harsh against intel I understand some things are designed with the intention of using intel components so it runs better with that. I just grew up poor and bought what I could afford so I always went with AMD which really is little to no difference from intel for the majority of programs out there.

AMD processors are significantly worse than Intel, but it's like the difference between the 0-60 speed on a ferrari vs a porsche...both are overkill and you'll never use it for gaming so save a buck.
Honestly if you wanted to build the cheapest machine that will crush EQ with ease, just buy one of the AMD APUs and leave out the video card entirely. Then you're getting the video card/proc at around $150 together, do 8 gigs of RAM at like $40, buy a 60 gig SSD for like $50, PSU for $30-40, mobo for under $100 and you're sitting around $400 if you buy a case. $500 if you buy the OS.
Also if you have a Microcenter in your area you will get the CPU/mobo cheaper than anywhere online even after tax. Plus they will price match newegg on other things, you can sometimes get a demo model case and stuff.

Depends on what you're going for, for me personally all I care about is the benchmark for SLI or XFire, Amd or Intel all clock differently depending on CPU. Personally I'm gonna pick the CPU that benchmark's the highest with card's I'm SLI'ing or Xfiring. But you're not gonna need to SLI or XFire for EQ.
That is kinda what I'm saying though. The benchmarks are sorta meaningless for EQ (granted most people use their shit for more than EQ). Lets say the AMD benchmarks at 900 and the Intel at 1010, but 200 is all you need to run EQ without any processor related issues if you feelers what I'm tryin' to get at.

yeah only thing that matter for EQ at this point is hard drive so you can zone faster than your opponent.
and it doesnt even come with a SSD....
fuck man if he took my scraps for 199$ i could build him a pc thats going to run eq faster than that "thing" he bought.

I bought a 1200$ computer and all I play is everquest
im not very smart
This is why I buy other games like Shadow of Mordor and force myself to play them to justify the cost of my computer.
I have an 8 core running at 4ghz or slightly higher and I actually had to underclock it to 3.6 in order for eq to run, even with the multi-cpu fix etc if you are running over 4ghz you may need to underclock just to get it to work.

Well, if you used parts from 10 years ago you would be running on shit that wasn't even conceived yet when this game was designed, lol.
Not sure I'd want a lot of people jacking around with RAM drives though.

my old parts were from 2 years ago...
Still can't believe everyone let poor innocent stasis buy this machine
were supposed to be a community
were supposed to be friends
were supposed to look out for each other

Nothing wrong with the machine other than it has an AMD.
Time=Money and while you may not highly value your time others do.

I value my time
that's why I play with a SSD

For EQ it's pointless. You wouldn't even need to SLI or Xfire for EQ. Just saying Intel doesn't always smoke AMD when it comes to gaming, sometimes AMD's clock allot higher than Intel benchmarks for gaming performance. But AMD's almost always require a very custom cooling system that often negates the cheaper cost of the CPU.
For a solely EQ computer I'd prolly go with whatever is cheaper and compare the benchmarks on equally priced computers. But yea I agree that for Eq it don't matter.

SSD has to have a very high read/write MB speed or it's gonna load zones at inferior to high GB ramdisk speeds. However raided SSD's result in almost instantaneous zone loading.
