Currently as it exists:

-Increases total hp by 100
-Heals for 290 (I guess using some calculation, I don't know it)
-Increases strength by 17
-Decreases hp by 2hp/tick (dot)

Should be:

-Increases total hp by 300 (at 60 I assume? no clue if this is across all level ranges)
-Heals for 290 (I guess using some calculation, I don't know it)
-Increases strength by 17
-Decreases hp by 2hp/tick (dot)

The hp component is slot 4 - meaning it will stack with all current HP buffs except hybrid HP buffs (that come in Velious). On beta, calimony correctly overwrites divine strength - but since it does not have the correct +300hp component, users will lose 100hp.

It seems this was more-or-less (more less than more) functioning correctly at some point here:

and was changed in this patch:

Edit: forgot my proof lol

Stinging Wort grants an instantaneous 300 Hit Point boost
both to total and current hit points while adding 17 to
Strength. The Strength and Hit Point boosts wear off
gradually in "damage over time" fashion over a 6 minute
period. Another nice potion for melee classes.

There is also a potion that can act like a heal. It's an hp buff potion, instant cast. It's one of the ones with giant toes, forgot the name atm.

While expensive, it's a nice little ass-saving device. A mage friend of mine would keep one while soloing in case things went bad. Instant cast 300 hp buff/heal. Expensive, but useful. For the higher levels with many Kpp to spare, a 10 dose is a quick 2700 health.

I'll dig up more later (I'm lazy), but you get the idea

It heals for 300 and should be healing for 300.

As for Total HP, it has a base of 300 (and undefined max) in the Trilogy spdat with effect formula 120, which is also shared by Soul Bond (a lifetap DoT proc).

One of the anecdotes you cited claims the total hp wore off gradually, so it probably started at +300 and then decreased over the duration of the buff to 0. As a six-minute buff this would make the rate -5hp/tick.

It could be a coincidence, but comments regarding Soul Bond suggest that it was also 5hp/tick:
Soul Bond is a DOT lifetap that will not take hold if you have rabies or strong disease, etc.

One tick after the proc, you will gain 5 health. One tick after that, you gain 10 health... then 15, 20, 25, and finally 30.

If you proc again befor reaching the 30 dmg marker, it starts again at 5.http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=559#m99243324698743
Uthgaard/Kanras: Fix for formula 120 spells (Soul Bond, Calimony)I don't know the details of how this was implemented, but in Calimony's case it appears to just be applying the value for total hp max (defined as 100 for some odd reason in the p99 spell file) immediately upon use.

And while we're at it, the effect's name is Calilimony in Trilogy and earlier spdats.

^ Good stuff

So it appears what needs to be changed is:

I don't know the details of how this was implemented, but in Calimony's case it appears to just be applying the value for total hp max (defined as 100 for some odd reason in the p99 spell file) immediately upon use.

Can you post up the Trilogy spdat?

Calimony is not curable by cure disease, but is by nullify magic. How come it conflicts with disease?

Lists all the regen spells in there, so I would say yea, shouldn't stack with any regen

the quotes say that Soul Bond conflicts with disease but they have been put into the same category.

My guess is that the quote is from an era where disease blocked regeneration effects. If you can remember from live, there was a point in which casting rabies or disease dot on something prevented its ridiculous regeneration, namely Cazel in Oasis. If you got rabies from a mummy you had to get a cure from a cleric or you wouldn't regen health, ect. Remembering the olden days, so fun.

Oh jeez, yeah, fun times in the lowbie zones back then. There were days you couldn't zone into Oasis with a Cleric/Druid/Paladin without getting 3 tells for cure disease within seconds.
