I only buy Gigabyte boards now, ASUS the only other brand I'd consider.

I had to do a lot of hardcore mobo research when I was building my hackintosh, Gigabyte is what Apple uses in all their shit. As an owner of 3 ipads, 2 iphones, and 2 mac PCs I am bound by fanboi status to buy whatever Apple uses or tells me to use.

i have loved all my gigabyte boards, and have never had to RMA one. Great bang for the buck too (like rexx's wife).

I've never had a DOA board of any brand honestly. I don't even know if I've had 1 fail on me but I tend to cycle every part in my main machine about once every 2 years. I'm on 3+ years on this rig though, i5 with 8 gigs of RAM and a couple 256GB ssds. I upgraded the video card last year to a 7900 and haven't had any issues running any game I've tried so I haven't bothered upgrading anything else.

The only games I play are Civ, EQ, Chivarly and CS:GO though...not exactly pushing the limit.

U should seriously relocate. U know ppl get paid $35 am hour to unload/ load boxes from trucks in Sydney? Mind u rent would be massive unless you lived out in the far western suburbs.

Colgate/Smedy you guys buying the low, mid or top tier boards? I tend to buy upper mid tier (basically cheapest one with the latest chipsets) and I've never had an issue. I have 3 of them running right now in fact, all of them over 2 years old.
