So from what I've read on a few other threads here the bandwidth usage for EQ isn't that high correct?

Has anyone tried or is anyone currently running EQ via phone tether?

I'm asking because the current position at my job has me sitting idle, basically on call, for upwards of 5-6 hours a night that I use to forum quest and browse reddit/imgur and other sites.

I'd much rather spend that time grinding away at this elf sim! I have an laptop collecting dust that I think would work fine but not sure how good/bad a tethered connection is with EQ and if the bandwidth is low enough that it wouldn't effect my cell data usage. Tmobile, 4G, capped at 2gb.

Yeah it doesn't use a lot. I wouldn't recommend trying to browse the web though.

Recently I had ADSL issues and was using my cell as a wireless hotspot to connect and play.

Gameplay was excellent .. no issues with latency at all, zoneing times were unaffected ... not surprising I suppose as back in 99 we were all playing on dialup (or atleast I was)

Playing for 4-5 hrs was using maybe 200mb(?)

Will update on the morrow with how it goes, just ran the speedtest app on my phone and where I'm sitting at work I'm getting 2-4Mbps dl, nothing fancy but much better then what I had back in the day.

P99 uses single-digit kB/s bandwidth. Hardly anything.

I'd definitely turn off images if you're forumquesting with a bandwidth cap <3

Well it works, getting about 300ms average and its running like crap on this old laptop. My immersion has increased!

and to the above, no only playing p99 on the laptop, i have a work computer to forumquest with!

been playing about 40min and only used 1mb of bandwidth so far, browsing imgur for 5seconds uses more~

edit: for those curious, about 4-5 hours ish of EQ took ate up 34.41mb of data. connection was reliable too, only had 1 lag out.
