Updated spells but still getting creation screen blank human saying I need to update

Ok so I played a few months ago and still had the game installed for p99. I came back and had an error starting it, some kinda memory thing. Then I got wineq2 again and that fixed that issue.
But then I logged in andits giving me the blank human character creation screen telling me I need to get updated spells.

I updated the spells from the news section of forums and overwrote everything after extracting all those files to the EQ directory. Now I am still getting issue, out of ideas. Please help!

Just keep trying to log in. The error isn't always correct.

Try just reinstalling p99 period.
