I want to play a warrior but I was wondering if the group exp bonus outweighs the need to create a farming char for gear. Also I noticed about half the server population are neckbeards that are on 12+ hours a day so I guess they are farming?

Warrior is very gear dependent. The faster leveling is just going to make that more apparent to you. I wouldn't recommend a warrior as a first character but it is doable.

Warrior's are gear dependent but that only really matters if your trying to solo. You can easily group half naked for a long long time here. 1-50 is extremely fast so play what you'd like.

This guy took his mouth of az's Pepe long enough to post something worthwhile.

Yes, don't make a war first tank class...make a SK if you want a tank as your first class; as a Paladin I say this with a heavy heart but honesty is a Paladin's trait.

Do you have a friend to play with? If you're duo'ing all the time then you'll be fine.

Rolled an SK as my first class. 50/50 regret it. Its hard. Your nearly worthless in PvP until you are geared. I'm sure a warrior is even more so apparent. That added, I haven't farmed anything and I'm getting geared.

This ain't blue, you don't have to buy your pixels, raiding is a viable option from both sides of the war. Play what you want but realize that at the moment there aren't a lot of low level groups going on. The recent push has all leveled to 40+, so you might want to play a solo class. No reason you can't do both?

Seriously, don't. I'm a paladin, I still have turd gear even though a lot of cool ppl have given me minor items here and there. You wouldn't be so lucky, people don't give a fuck about giving away some random Deepwater Boots, but warrior gear is much more in demand. Even with that, its been a huge pain in the ass, and I have a lot more tools to solo and function undergeared than a warrior would.

Make an cazic thule worshiping erudite cleric and level on Paineel guards for phat starter cash and the bonus of not being yet another worthless druid later on.

OR

Make an agnostic gnome wizard. Don't spend time farming dumb shit like Trents for cash. Just blast your way to the level cap.

don't make a necro, don't make a shaman, don't make a magician or some dumb shit. make a cleric or a wizard. srsly.

as a Paladin I say this with a heavy heart but honesty is a Paladin's trait.

This. Its true. All people who elf sim as a paladin are wise and honest irl so listen to us.

Squire has some really good points.

Wizards and Clerics always high in demand and both very useful in pvp. Clerics can't really farm plat well though so if you want a meele alt I'd still make a farming class.

I would still say Shaman is viable in pvp, pve, and farming and would always suggest it as a first class.

Wouldn't make a mage.

I was thinking of making a dark elf enchanter to farm, but that could be cause I'm from blue. Maybe I can roll a agnostic dark elf wizard or a dark elf cleric.

Are people suggesting wizard just for leveling speed and joining a top end guild cause I don't recall them being able to farm any dungeons.

Useful in pvp even while naked. Capable of soloing. High mobility, allowing you to avoid ganks. Ports are fairly in-demand (not so easy to /who all dial and send a tell to a wiz or druid when everyone is anon) so potential for minor cash generation.

step 1 is realizing you're not on blue.

you need pals, pals are in guilds, guilds need clerics, wizards, rogues, bards, etc

unless you know how to / want to play a bard, don't.

you'd be as hard pressed to level a ungeared solo rogue as a warrior, so scratch that.

make a cleric or wizard, you will acquire gear for an alt down the road, trust me. pick the one you'd enjoy the most in the mean time, not the one you think could farm the best or even level the quickest. If you burn yourself out grinding up some sort of farming class for the sole reason of gearing a warrior, you'll quit. If you try to go melee first, you'll bind wound your way to your first hell level and quit. Fuck making a shaman, enchanter, magician, everything else.

Go shaman/cleric/enchanter get a farm class. Or druid.

Then go melee.

I rolled a Rogue and came here with 0 friends. It was hard as fuck. Don't be a douche lord and yo will make some friends along the way that will help you. Join a guild. TEAM HOLOCAUST!

Play what you want.

Appreciate the info guys, thinking I'll try an enchanter :)

Enchanter can be rough the first time around as well. Spell costs + exp rate = you'll be broke until 50. Definitely not a bad first character at all, but it's not the class to roll on here if you want to twink out a melee later on.

The correct answer to your question is make a druid. You can 1-54 in a few days, farm jboots levi cloak all of your gear, and farm seafuries for a week to buy anything else you can't solo farm yourself. Never worry about gear, just levels. Once you get all your sweet melee gear, you're left with a character that can always farm seafuries and most pre-planar drops for your alts, can always port your friends, can always port groups in for your warrior, can always powerlevel your friends, and with gear can be lethal in PVP to boot. I legitimately feel sorry for anyone who plays on red without a character who can port given how low the population is. If you don't have an alt who can port, your warrior is pretty much forced to level crushbone -> unrest -> mistmoore, probably the worst possible leveling path on red, because they are the only zones which groups form. If you have a druid to port your party members around, the world is your oyster and your warrior will level a lot faster.

I changed my mind, I saw a tutorial which really convinced me you should make a druid.
