OOC abuse by the griefers

Man anyone notice the trend of griefers scanning OOC for anyone LFG, obviously know where they are based on level range, log on griefers and chase people away from the server?

It's not even a random hunt or real pvp, just griefers scanning OOC for victims.

I can just log on alt, but for people with no alt, they're getting chased away back to blue.

Not to mention any names, so I'll censor, Drist*r, etc

Do these guys sleep?

Don't advertise what zones you are xping in. Don't assume people only PK you because you are lfg. People have specifically leveled and twinked PK alts, that's just how it works.

Regarding being griefed off the server.. I've leveled three characters through CB -> unrest -> MM and been pk'd plenty of times while doing so. If people are being chased off the server from getting pk'd in the early teens, 20s, or even 30s.. i'm not sure they can be convinced to stay.

It's a valid way to fish. I don't have a solution for you that you are looking for. All I can say is, it's gonna happen. They log in, terrorize the zone for awhile, then eventually leave. If your group all rage quits and never returns.. well, thats the problem. The twinks don't stay logged in all day long.

Don't bitch about them in /o, don't cry about it in /t to them, don't give them that confirmation that they've pushed you to the point of shaking rage. Pvp is going to happen, and EQ pvp is ruthless.

Don't know what questions you're talking about but ok? You are always coming to the boards and want something changed. I'm just suggesting that maybe this server isn't your bag. Pvp happens and a lot of it is from twinks. Only way through it is to just endure.

I care and I don't go griefing noobs. I spread clericy goodness across norrath if anything. You can't just change the game because you joined a pvp server and you don't like how some people can negatively affect your time. It's harder to level here but the xp bonus is there for a reason. Suck it up and get out of range of the griefers. It's not like we all haven't had to go through it.

Lessons I've learned on red99.(in no particular order)

Group with people you know, guildies etc.
Don't /ooc what zone your lfg in because griefers will show up.
If someone asks you "what zone" without wsaying level or class, probably a griefer.
If someone asks to join your group ask your group/guild if you've never heard of them. With the small population chances we know their alt.

Hunt in zones that are a pain in the ass to get to if you don't want pvp.

Pvp is more fun than leveling.:eek:
Griefers show up... Grow a pair or move to an obscure zone.

I've made some of the best mm/crush griefers plug by communicating with my group and team work.

I've had a lot of luck so far being grouped with people who are good enough to get organized and chase the twinks away quite a few times now.... the only thing that bugs me is the plugging. Every fucking time. If your gonna attack people 4 levels below you in your deleveled epic fungi raid buffed gank bot, atleast take your fucking deaths when you get beat.

Best thing to do is for the group to change exp zones once the griefers come out of the woodwork, just make friends with porters who you trust (ones that wont port you into Plane of Hate or some other griefy location or tell the griefers where you are headed). There are just so many places to exp that are empty and zones where no one will think to look with places you can bind nearby - Kurns (can bind in Kaesora), Dalnir (Can bind outside OT outpost or cab), Nurga (easy pulls and safe area with no pats @ spider caves, can bind outside OT outpost), Kaesora (kills OT faction but good ZEM and decent drops), Kedge Keep (with EB items, can be a safe exp spot) etc...

Not everyone has to exp in CoM, MM and Unrest...

oh this is hilarious , I need to get full group aware then be like "28 sham lfg mm, just me hoping to get more" then boom, entire group on them.

But yea griefers (epics with 200mr, fungi, nihil gear at lvl 20) is NOT standard PvP and should have it's own term when talking about it. that's like playing ff8 and using your gem at level 1 to fight that optional demon boss: no chance , not even called a fight.

But yea it is true they come and go very fast. It's just sucks I'm on Taiwan time so the 24/7 neckbeards just "camp" ooc. Hard enough getting group. But they come and go, as long as I have my alts I'm happy. Just let me rage a bit, Damn! Lol.

my friends have spent millions of plat to park comparable toons at these grief hotspots to protect them. unfortunately we can't be around all the time. I have personally watched Knights templar spend entire days logging in every 30 minutes to check the zone for weeks now for low lvl grps in rags to slay.

This is one of the biggests problems this server faces today, people feeding on the weak, driving population down. there is to big of an experience/gear gap, most of these new players don't even know how to plug.

This server should care about such things, should police itself, and should cast out the people some known and some not that do these things.

there is no reason for server staff to step in, nor do i think they should. I feel any alteration of polcy will just end up in more rule lawyering hurting the server more.

To make it even more clear: those neckbeards who raised already countless toons, maxed them and acquired all gear they needed are at a point where there is nothing else to do than twinking out even more toons to the max and pvp at lower levels when all bosses are down for a week.

This and various other reasons, foremost the incredibly low pop justifies a server wipe. We are not here for progression, fuck velious, we are here to pvp else we would play on blue.

I played some hours yesterday with my wizard who's bound at the pots. Was zoning and porting every 2 minutes into different zones all over norrath and loged off after disgusted how empty the whole world is. And now we want velious? Fuck velious, seriously.

I am currently playing eq2 on nagafen server and this is the exact reason the server is extremely low population, you can level lock and get very very overpowered gear in every slot and park your char in a dungeon for that range, griefers rape people leveling, they go back to a blue server.
