I always just use this tool for setting up EQ. Has an option to modify your spell gems to Classic/Velious/Luclin gems. (You can pick and choose what options to run at any given time, should be able to use it to mod just the gems and not touch the rest of your install).

Just unzip them into the default UI folder you use, then /load UINAME and you've kept your ui, but loaded new icons.

yeveas suggestions will work too.

While the duxa installer installs the duxaui, you don't have to use it (it doesnt replace your current or the default ui, just makes it an option). Also, I think you can choose to just setup your spell icons and not have it do anything else. Not at home to test.

1) Go to an eq ui website(google)
2) Find gems you want
3) Download and put into your eq folder under Ui.
4) Log into game and go to options
5) Find the ui you want and load it

If all else fails may want to consider copying these for the spellgem issue (might want to grab p99s ui files from the update zip? not sure if they offer these) or your default_old ui folder, worked on roflzek (or maybe grab a copy of your ui or duxa and copy these from there) in any case, changing these out in 1/3 ways i mentioned should change something, if not for the better

EQ netcode was never optimized for that type of latency, you'd see 0 improvement over 100-120ish ping.

did you do a reinstall? You probably just need to delete your "spellsnew.edd" file
