View Full Version : Anyone have a problem with pixels outlining your character?

I'm on a Dell Laptop Windows 7, with a dedicated video card, ATI. All DirectX is up to date, video drivers up to date.

What I have is, at the login in I have these pixel-ish little squares outline parts of my character, they are also in game, sometimes surrounding weapons, far off mobs..and sometimes plastering the sky. I'm not sure if it's because of the Dual-Core thing or not, I read the Dual Core thread but nothing in there seemed to suggest a similar problem as mine so I haven't looked into that further.

I can over look it if needed, but its weird since EQ Live, which I also play on another partition looks flawless, as do other mmo's.

If anyone has experienced this and found a fix, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Maybe its just certain zones..I came in from East Commons, which was flawless.

West Freeport-flawless.

East Freeport:

and I noticed this yesterday, but when I got out to NRO:

Very weird, it does it a little in GFay as well, but more like what I was talking about, about the glitchy outline around the weapons and mobs.

These are my EQ In Game settings: I have Titanium:

Just made another character in Akanon just to see if this is really frequent, and there it is flawless as well...I dunno. Must be some minor conflicts with my hardware and certain zones. Its very playable though so..*shrugs*

Maybe try turning off Dynamic Lighting and restarting?

yeah, it was actually doing that before I turned that on and for some reason turning that on seemed to cut back a lot of it. Oh well, I can overlook it..its just too fun seeing people packed in the old zones again to let it bother me lol...Im a healer, and as long as it doesn't get in the way of me keeping people alive I am happy.

And if it does I'll make a Magician or Necro lol.

I seem to be having the same problem. Unfortunately Im having a problem overlooking it. Any suggestions? I as well have an ATI card, HD 4650. Updated drivers, latest directx.

Anything would be much appreciated.

(got a 5770 now and no problems)

(in my experience it only occured in some zones, and most of the times when it rained i think)

And here's the thing I also have this installed on my desktop (those pics are from a laptop with a dedicated ATI card with Windows 7)...but the desktop is WIndows XP and nVidia...not a single problem..all zones that were giving me trouble on the laptop never show up on the desktop. One of the problems I've noticed is that it always showed up glitchy like that when it starts raining in game...but again the desktop xp machine with an nnvidia card...flawless. *shakes head* I dunno.

Hate not being able to use my laptop for it though, can't sit on the couch and play with a desktop lol.

I had exactly the same problem. I updated my video drivers and it went away. Not sure why as the client is ages old and my drivers were actually fairly recent.

You know, after you said that about the drivers, I went and looked and I was behind just 1 update of drivers...updated and now it's flawless. Good call, it fixed everything.
