I know this question is always asked but seeing as I can't play for a bit and find out for myself I'll ask you guys.

I feel like I've narrowed down my preferred class to either shaman, war, sk, enchanter, or maybe cleric. Is the server swarming with any of these in particular? Is there a class you would like to see more of?

There is likely over 5-8k toons on this server, obviously not at one given time but as a whole. There are only a certain # of classes to choose from. It just depends on your plat style and how you want to play the game. If you have an odd schedule and can only play during EU time then you might want a class who can solo more in case no groups are going. Enchanter and Shaman are obviously the two best classes in the end, however they do take some time to get the hang of and their abilities comes with levels.

In my experience up to level 35, cleric is the most common of the classes you listed. That may come as a surprise, since people tend to think that the strictly healer class would be most unpopular, but I think a lot of people were attracted to cleric (including myself) because they thought it would guarantee them groups, or because they could play permanently semi-afk.

If you really want to get a group almost every time you walk into a zone, go enchanter.

Tons of clerics/enchs.

Hard to go wrong with a sham with velious coming up.

Wars are a hard class for the first, but with the lack of tanks it's easier to get groups than it was on live. Sk's have the exp penalty still. I'd expect to keep that for another year or two.

I would advice mage. Nice and easy especially for starters, and while not the most wanted in groups, he/she can be a great asset. When you know more about the game and the server you could then switch to something harder to learn, like enchanter or a melee class. But mage is definately a good starting point.

Thankfully there's 8 slots to make a bunch of combos that look interesting.
Good luck & let us know what you decide on!

Server is loaded with Enchanters, Shaman, Necros and Druids. Hybrids make up the smallest %, with Paladins at the bottom of the barrel.

My advice is play all of them alittle bit. Try out different races. There are loads of different combinations, and they all play out differently. The real fun here on p99 is taking your time and enjoying the atmosphere and community.

No it isn't. Those are some of the rarest classes actually.

Go to a 40+ person raid and tally the amount of Ench, Sham, Necros, and druids you see. This is open for interpretation though. Druids are most played pre 40ish. And people won't play non essentials at raids, minus 1 or 2 of certain classes.
